You'll enjoy a personalized TV experience with our recommendation engine, which recommends content based on popularity and programming preferences. In addition, you will have the option to bookmark which allows you to continue watching your favorite content or any VOD movies through the set-top box to the new du View app. These are some of the benefits you will get with du TV.

Easier navigation through du TV:

Press ‘Menu’ on your remote to start enjoying the new experience. The menu is now organised in 3 categories:

You - personalised content:

‘My Favourites’ provides quick access to the ‘Video on Demand’ titles that you mark as your favourites.
‘You Might Like’ recommends video titles based on their popularity and your viewing habits.
‘Purchased’ lists the movies you’ve rented.
‘Continue Watching’ gives quick access to resume the movies you didn’t finish watching.

On Now - provides all features related to your TV channels in one place:

‘Live TV’ lists the TV channels starting from the last TV channel you’ve tuned into. You can also press ‘Guide’ to access the complete guide.
‘My Recordings’ - access your latest recordings with a simple click or press ‘My Recordings’ to access the full menu.
‘Trending’ lists the most popular TV channels based on what other du TV viewers are watching.

Movies & TV Shows - access the catalogue of movies and TV shows:

‘Recently Added’ - quick view of the latest movies and TV shows added to the catalogue.
‘Movies Store’ - rent the latest blockbusters released straight from the cinema.
‘Free View’ is the catalogue of movies and TV shows available with your first TV subscriptions.

More useful tips:

New Search

‘Search’ can now be found on the top left corner of the menu screen. Select the magnifying glass icon and enter your search criteria. The results will be grouped by people, TV channels, TV shows, movies and recordings to make your selection easier. You can also press the ‘Options’ button to apply advanced filters.

Accessing the du TV settings menu

‘Settings’ is now available on the top left corner of the menu screen. Simply select the dented wheel icon and you’re ready to go.

Installation

You don’t need to do anything as the installation will happen automatically. The installation should take up to 5 minutes to complete. Your viewing experience won’t be interrupted if you’re watching du TV when your box is ready for the upgrade. You’ll receive an on-screen message to accept the upgrade or delay it for 3 hours.
Furthermore, there will be no impact on your recordings, VOD pin or parental controls. However, if you wish to change your PIN/parental controls, you can do so on My Account.

Resetting your Parental Control PIN or Purchase PIN

PIN management has improved by enabling the settings through My Account for your peace of mind. Setting for the first time and resetting the existing Parental Control and Purchase PINs is now possible on www.du.ae/myaccount

  None of these features are impacted by the upgrade. However, if you wish to change your Purchase PIN or Parental Control PIN, you can do so on My Account.

  Troubleshooting:
  a) What happens if the installation is not complete (the instalment freezes or stalls)?
  If your du TV box is stuck on the ‘Welcome’ screen, please restart by switching the rear power button on the decoder or unplugging the power cable then plugging it again. In case this doesn’t work, please conduct the same action for 3 consecutive times and wait for the full download and boot up of the new user interface.
  
  b) What should I do if some of my TV channels are missing?
  Your existing channels will automatically appear unless you’ve placed an order to remove one of your existing subscriptions. If this is not the case and you’re still missing some channels, please go to the settings menu (Settings > TV settings > Customise channels) to check if the missing channels are not “unchecked”.
  
  c) What should I do if my recordings are missing?
  The existing recordings may take some time to reflect after the upgrade is complete. Please try again later. If the issue persists, please verify if you can record new programs before contacting us.
