Do Not Call Registry

The national ‘Do Not Call Registry’ (DNCR) is a directory of phone numbers of consumers who do not wish to receive telemarketing calls. The registration is free and consumers can simply login to My Account Portal or du app to register their number through Marketing Preference option alternatively by sending SMS with key word “block” or “DNCR” to 1012. Once registered, a number will stay indefinitely in the registry unless the consumer removes their number/or number is disconnected.

The national ‘Do Not Call Registry’ was created to enable you to choose to stop receiving unsolicited telemarketing calls.
What benefits will I get if I register my number with the ‘Do Not Call Registry’?

The ‘Do Not Call Registry’ allows you to stop or reduce the number of unwanted telemarketing calls you receive. Telemarketers are required by law to stop contacting you once your number is registered.
How do I register my number with the DNCR?

You can simply register your mobile number in the DNCR through Marketing Preference option in du App and My Account or by sending the key word “Block” or “DNCR” to 1012, you will receive an SMS confirming your number’s successful registration in the DNCR. Additionally, you can also register your home landline number by sending SMS with key word "DNCR" . Please note landline number should start with correct pre-fix 9714/9712/9716 and the SMS must be sent from mobile number registered under same account number.
How do I unregister my number from the DNCR?

To unregister your mobile number, login to du app or My Account and update the settings for Marketing preferences. Alternatively, send key word “Unblock” or “UDNCR” to 1012, you will receive an SMS confirming the successful Un-registration your mobile number from the DNCR. Additionally, you can also unregister your home landline number by sending SMS with key word "UDNCR" . Please note landline number should start with correct pre-fix 9714/9712/9716 and the SMS must be sent from mobile number registered under same account number.
How do I check if my number is registered in DNCR?

You can do that by simply sending SMS with key word “Check” to 1012, an automated message will be sent to your mobile number with DNCR registration status informing you whether your number is part of the Do Not Call Registry or not.
How long does it take to update the DNCR status?

When you send a request to register/unregister the DNCR status is updated immediately. You may verify the status of your registration by sending key word “Check” to 1012.
How do I submit a Spam calls complaint?
In case you still receive unwanted telemarketing or a Malicious call. You can report the same by reaching us through the following channels;
- Calling our support team on 155/188
- Emailing us on customer.care@du.ae for consumer and care.bussiness@du.ae for enterprise
- Visiting our online complaint page
- Registering the complaint at our retail stores
- Sending SMS with keyword “Report space Number” to 1012. Please ensure the keyword is sent with correct format and the number should start with correct pre-fix for mobile (97155/056/058/052), for fixed ( 9714/6/2/7).
Can someone change the status of my number in the DNCR?

No, your DNCR status will always remain the same as the last update done by you. du will only remove your number from the DNCR once your services are terminated and your number is deactivated.
If my number is added to the DNCR, can a company still make a telemarketing call to my number?

As of the August 2023 update, telemarketers may no longer contact individuals whose numbers are listed in the DNCR, even with prior consent. In case you still receive telemarketing calls, you can report the call by visiting our online complaint page or calling our support team at 155/188.

Yes, you can amend your preference for receiving promotional communications from du, via the following channels:

- du App/My Account: The option is available under the “Marketing preference” tab from the menu.
- SMS to 7000 with the following keywords:
- To receive du promotional calls, send “SUB call”
- To receive du promotional Messages, send “SUB SMS”
- To receive du promotional emails, send “SUB email”
Alternatively, you may also request the same via our support channels by call/email or at our retail shops.
Can I unsubscribe to receive promotional content from du?
Yes, you can amend your preference for not receiving promotional communications from du, via the following channels:

- du App/My Account - option is available under the “Marketing preference” tab
