Still reminiscing from an incredible four days of representing WaterstofNet and Belgian Hydrogen Council as part of the Belgian Economic mission to Norway, lead by HRH Princess Astrid and accompanied by excellencies like Jan Jambon and Tinne Van der Straeten and a business delegation of more than 400 companies 🇧🇪🇳🇴 On Monday I was invited by INEOS to visit their Rafnes site by boat. Despite the distance between the two locations, the synergies with INEOS BELGIUM and Project One in terms of inputs, outputs and investments are enormous with both plants counting largely on hydrogen to decarbonise 🏭 ⚡ 🎤 During the Energy Summit, in Oslo's most beautiful building that is the Opera House, we had the chance with the Belgian Hydrogen Council to showcase our unique selling points in hydrogen to the official Belgian delegation and Norwegian State Secretary for Energy Astrid Bergmål. First steps for intensive collaboration were taken with Miss Ingebjørg Telnes Wilhelmsen of the Norsk Hydrogenforum. This morning, our chairman Tom Hautekiet presented the Belgian hydrogen ecosystem to the Belgian Economic Mission to Norway lead by HRH Princes Astrid, Jan Jambon, Philippe Henry, Paul Van Tigchelt and Tinne Van der Straeten 🇧🇪🇳🇴 In the beautifull Opera House of Oslo and in the presence of a business delegation of more than 400 companies, the Belgian Hydrogen Council reached out to the Norsk Hydrogenforum for intensive collaboration, happily accepted by Miss Ingebjørg Telnes Wilhelmsen in her back to back presentation 🤝 Yesterday, we already had to chance to visit the INEOS site in Rafnes by boat to hear about their decarbonisation plans and the synergies the site has with INEOS BELGIUM and Project One. ⏫ Increasing numbers of industrial hydrogen users in Belgium “The petrochemical cluster in Antwerp already uses 400 kilotonnes of hydrogen a year. And new users are also emerging. The steel sector in Belgium, for instance, currently uses coke as a raw material to transform iron ore into liquid iron. But, in time, they want to modify their production process and replace coke with hydrogen. Day 2 of the World Hydrogen Summit & Exhibition has come to an end! Also today was filled with exciting meetings and encounters 🎈 We hit the day off with a Council 2 Council meeting with our French neighbours of France Hydrogène 🎈 FABRUM. gave us an insight in their interesting liquefaction technologies 🎈 In preparation of the upcoming Belgian Economic Mission to norway, we passed by the Norwegian booth where we met the Norwegian Hydrogen Federation 🎈 Andalucía TRADE visited the BHC booth with a delegation of companies 🎈 As a national association, WaterstofNet sigend The Cooperation Charter for European Associations Advancing Clean Hydrogen tpgether with other national associations of Hydrogen Europe (press release:https://ap.lc/vBLMt) See you next year WHS!

Reflecting back on an exciting first day at the World Hydrogen Summit & Exhibition with some highlights: 🎈 The signing of our MOU with NLHydrogen and the German hydrogen council (press release: https://ap.lc/ZtFoH) 🎈 A seminar by Canada on Bridging the Transatlantic Liquidity Gap, with special thanks to Alexane Hervy for inviting our Belgian companies 🎈 A meeting with Hydrom on reinforcing Belgo-Omani ties 🎈 Fruitful discussions at the Associação dos Empregados da Apex-Brasil booth between Belgian and Brazilian stakeholders 🎈 An encounter between our chairman Tom Hautekiet and the State Secretary for Economic Affairs, Industry, Climate Action and Energy for North Rhine-Westphalia Ms. Silke Krebs at the booth of John Cockerill 🎈 Ending the day with our famous Belgian Beer Night, after being welcomed by our Belgian ambassador in the Netherlands Anick Van Calster Today, we go again!
