We are thrilled to share a significant achievement of Solenco Power: our contribution in the European Union funded PIONEERS project at the Port of Antwerp-Bruges, the second-largest port in Europe.  PIONEERS coordinator Port of Antwerp-Bruges is exploring the feasibility of using hydrogen as a heating source for buildings by implementing a Hydrogen Heating System. The main goal is to acquire and disseminate knowledge related to the safety and regulatory aspects of using hydrogen for heating purposes. Therefore, Solenco is deploying the 30kW Solenco Energy Box. This innovative system plays a crucial role in heating a painter's hall, leveraging the conversion of electrical renewable energy from solar panels or smart grid energy into green hydrogen, which, in turn, can be converted back into heat. The primary goal is to serve as a demonstration, showcasing the advantages of utilizing hydrogen for heating purposes. The system showcases sustainability by producing 10kg of green hydrogen daily. This green hydrogen is efficiently stored in high-pressure bundles at 300bar, ensuring a reliable and eco-friendly energy source. Our commitment to advancing sustainable solutions is exemplified by this project, demonstrating the tangible impact that clean energy technology can have on industrial operations. One of the workshops of our Nautical Operational Cluster will be heated via a #hydrogen boiler running on 100% green hydrogen, making it climate-neutral. 💚 The green hydrogen is generated entirely from renewable energy existing of: ✔️ 70% locally produced green energy from surplus solar panels ✔️ 30% green power purchases from the grid It is the first time such a boiler has been used in Belgium for a workshop of this size. This pilot project is part of an ambitious climate plan to make the Port of Antwerp-Bruges climate-neutral by 2050. We achieved this in collaboration with Imtech, Remeha Belgium and SOLENCO POWER NV. Onze COO, Sven Duchatelet, zal de workshop “hoe kan je zelf waterstof produceren” begeleiden tijdens dit waterstofevenement op 4 april bij VIVES University of Applied Sciences in Kortrijk. Get a behind the scenes look at the transportation of our Soleno Energy Box! This specific 30kW Energy Box will produce hydrogen for a hydrogen gas station. After delivering the Energy Box, Solenco Power will perform the SAT (site acceptance test) and implement monitoring and control. In het Gelderse #Wolfheze wordt momenteel door Schipper Bosch een woonblok gebouwd dat voorzien wordt van een #waterstof #energieopslag systeem. Hiermee kan zowel zonnestroom als goedkope netstroom wordt opgeslagen voor later gebruik. Doordat ook de vrijgekomen warmte wordt hergebruikt, belooft het project een keten efficiency van 93%. https://lnkd.in/eYKaKisH

‘Als de neuzen in dezelfde richting staan, dan is alles mogelijk.’ Dat mocht ik vandaag ontdekken bij burgercoöperatie ZuidtrAnt en Kringloopcentrum Opnieuw & Co, waar de sociale economie, duurzaamheid en de energietransitie hand in hand gaan. “Het klimaatprobleem en de energietransitie heeft nood aan mensen die de handen uit de mouwen steken en via samenwerking de vlucht vooruit nemen.” De site van het kringloopcentrum is een energiepositieve circulaire HUB die dienst doet als testlabo voor de wijk van de toekomst. Dat doen ze zo 👇 - Met de eerste demosite voor het R-E-FLEX laadpleinconcept voor testing en dataverzameling, met steun van het energietransitiefonds. Een combinatie van hernieuwbare energieproductie via zonnepanelen en energieopslag met stationaire batterijen en batterijen van elektrische deelwagens. Zo kunnen elektrische wagens, eerder dan een bijkomende belasting te zijn voor het elektriciteitsnet, net bijdragen aan de stabiliteit ervan en dus aan de bevoorradingszekerheid.  - De zonnepanelen, met een vermogen van 350 KWp, op het dak van het kringloopcentrum zorgen voor groene, lokale energie uitgebaat voor en door de plaatselijke burgers en kmo’s, verenigd in een energiegemeenschap.  - Het warmtenet van Warmte Verzilverd gebruikt de industriële restwarmte van de Agfa-Gevaertfabriek in Mortsel om omliggende woonwijken, KMO-gebouwen en de site van Opnieuw&Co te verwarmen.  - De lokaal geproduceerde elektriciteit wordt opgeslagen in de hergebruikte batterij van Octave Energy, een Belgische start-up die zich specialiseert in het geven van een tweede leven aan oude batterijen van elektrische wagens.  - Het waterstofexperiment van SOLENCO POWER NV samen met de Université libre de Bruxelles, dat overtollige hernieuwbare energie opslaat en de gebouwen van het Kringloopcentrum van warmte en elektriciteit voorziet.  - De elektrische deelwagens en deelfietsen van CoopStroom cvba so en bijbehorende laadpunten 👏 Stuk voor stuk inspirerende projecten die aantonen dat de energietransitie gaat lukken als iedereen samenwerkt, we de burger centraal zetten en energie slim inzetten.  

Tuesday morning, we had Tinne Van der Straeten, federal Minister of Energy of Belgium, visiting our Solenco Energy Box© at the Opnieuw & Co site in Mortsel.  She was invited by ZuidtrAnt who organized a day full of workshops and on-site events. The event’s purpose was to introduce everyone to the renewable energy measures ZuidtrAnt is taking to make a multi-energy Energy Community in Mortsel.  And so, we had the opportunity to update the Minister on the Solenco Energy Box© we deployed in collaboration with H2 Coopstorage and the Université libre de Bruxelles.  It is a showcase of how solar PV can be stored for days, weeks or months and later converted back into heat and electricity at an overall efficiency of 92%. A real demo how Energy for the Citizens can be managed by the Citizens.
