The reached yields are in line with all upcoming EU regulations. 🌟 Linus Glowinski, cylib: „To achieve a true circular battery economy, cylib needs to collaborate with strong and mission-driven partners. We’re thrilled to have found such partners in Webasto and Porsche.” 🌟 Jonathan Hörz, Porsche AG: ”Among other goals, Porsche is striving for a closed battery raw material cycle. Batteries and their battery cell modules should be used in our vehicles for as long as possible and then either be used in energy storage systems or their raw materials should be reused in new batteries using modern recycling processes. The pilot project helped us to jointly elaborate valuable findings for achieving this goal."   🌟 Nedzad Shala, Webasto Group: “We are proud to be part of this project, advancing our batteries in recycling. cylib stands against racism & intolerance 🇪🇺✊ The European Parliament is the world’s only directly elected transnational assembly. Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) represent EU citizens' interests and shape laws affecting all aspects of life across the European Union. European elections are held every five years - this year polls are open from June 6th to 9th! cylib takes a clear stand against racism and urges everyone to vote in the EU elections to support democracy. In times when populism is rising, we must use our voices to oppose it. To raise awareness, cylib organized a day of action highlighting the importance of the European elections and supporting causes that fight against racism. As part of this day, we created a painting with our handprints the words "cylib against racism" which serves as a constant reminder for everyone who sees it in our office entrance. Every vote counts. 125th anniversary of the IME - congratulations from cylib ♻️ The IME Process Metallurgy and Metal Recycling - Institute and Chair of RWTH Aachen University (short form: IME) is a teaching and research institute in the field of metallurgical extraction, recycling, refining, and synthesis of non-ferrous metals and alloys. About 10 years ago, the future founding team of cylib began their battery recycling journey at the IME Process Metallurgy and Metal Recycling. Noticing a gap in battery recycling research, our CEO, Lilian Schwich, established the first battery recycling research group at IME and RWTH Aachen University. With our CTO, Paul Sabarny, as one of the first hires, the team rapidly expanded. In the context of her dissertation, Lilian Schwich developed what became the cylib process today: a sustainable and efficient end-to-end battery recycling process that recovers lithium- and graphite using a water-based technology. Honoring the IME Process Metallurgy and Metal Recycling’s 125th anniversary and cylib’s history, our CEO, Lilian Schwich was invited to give a speech about her time from research to industry. Building on Lilian's and Paul's research foundation, the company continues to embrace its research DNA by employing several brilliant former IME-members, including Maurice Buschmann, Hannah Schnitzeler, Georg Bräuer, Miray Sezer, Ioannis Panagiotidis, Kirill Saushkin, and Qiaoyan Pan. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Prof. Friedrich, Director of the IME Process Metallurgy and Metal Recycling, for the opportunity to reflect on the great research days at IME and honoring cylib’s history.
