#CustomCells expands cooperation with Group14 Technologies! 🤝 We’re very happy to announce a major step forward in our #partnership with Group14 Technologies, the global leader in silicon-carbon technology for lithium-ion batteries. 🌍🔋 This partnership will see us integrating Group14's SCC55® material into our high-performance battery cells, pushing the limits of what's possible in the #eMobility, and #eAviation sectors. Key highlights of the agreement: ➡ The contract value is expected to exceed US$300M, ensuring a substantial supply of SCC55® beyond 2030. ➡ Our aggressive growth plans include developing a factory in the United States with a capacity of up to 2GWh. 📣 "CustomCells, as an experienced premium player, knows how to push new materials to their absolute limit. And Group14’s SCC55® opens the doors to the next level of performance," says Dr. Dirk Abendroth, CEO of CustomCells. "This collaboration secures us access to silicon as an anode material for the next generation of cells and beyond, enabling significantly higher energy density, increased range, extreme fast charging, and reduced battery weight." Unsere Batterien werden nicht nur für Elektroautos, sondern seit 2023 auch für die Luftfahrt produziert. ✈ 📣 Johannes Durschang, Vertriebsleiter bei CustomCells, betont in seinem Interview: "CustomCells ist zur Aviation gekommen, weil das der nächste Jahrhundert-Trend werden wird. Neben der Elektrifizierung des Antriebsstrangs im Fahrzeug kann das elektrische Fliegen uns die nächsten Jahrhunderte begleiten." 📣 Christian Zender, Produktionsleiter bei CustomCells, erklärt die strengen Produktionsstandards und Testverfahren, die unsere #Batterien durchlaufen müssen: "Damit wir keine Partikel mit unserer Straßenkleidung in die Produktion verschleppen und so möglicherweise Batterien kontaminieren, achten wir sehr darauf, dass wir uns entsprechend ankleiden und die Batterien vor Partikeleintrag schützen, aber wir uns auch als Mitarbeiter vor dem Batteriematerial schützen." Die Dokumentation beleuchtet auch die strengen Tests, denen unsere Batterien unterzogen werden, wie z.B. ein Sturztest aus 15 Metern Höhe, um die Sicherheit bei Notlandungen zu gewährleisten. Die US-Zulassungsbehörde #FAA finanziert solche Testgelände, um sicherzustellen, dass unsere Batterien allen Anforderungen standhalten. 🦺 Diese Tests und Innovationen sind entscheidend für die Zertifizierung unserer Batterien für die Luftfahrt. This premier event is renowned for fostering business investment by bringing together a diverse group of investors, companies, economic development organizations (EDOs), and industry experts. Our representatives, Dr. Dirk Abendroth, Andreas Löhrke, and Eric Swedersky, engaged in two days of meaningful dialogues and #networking. The summit provided us with a platform to advance our international #expansion plans into the US market and forge key industry connections. The demand for high performance #BatteryCells is growing, and at #CustomCells we are aiming to expand our production capacity to 1 to 3 GWh, for which we need scalable and flexible solutions. 🔋 In Johannes Durschang’s (Head of Sales at CustomCells) presentation at #TheBatteryShowEurope, he discussed the current challenges of the market, including the decrease in German subsidies for battery development, the strong competition from the APAC region and the special requirements of the electric aviation sector. After all, there are particularly strict technical and safety requirements with special demands on batteries with high power density due to the energy required for safe take-offs and landings. 🛫🛬 In this context, Johannes presented our modular approach, which is fast and highly scalable. The pilot planned for this will be available in Germany from 2025 and the GW-fab will be available the following year at our site in #US. 🌎 Thanks to everyone who listened.
