I am always amazed at how energizing it is to meet people committed to moving the needle in the right direction... Stuttgart, the cradle of the automotive industry, although less fancy than Silicon Valley, remains a steadfast beacon for innovation over time.   While attending an event on sustainable materials organized by STARTUP AUTOBAHN powered by Plug and Play (a platform connecting start-ups and corporates within the mobility space, manufacturing, etc) and Motherson, my highlights go to : 1. Juteborg Sweden AB creating diverse sustainable products using jute sourced from Bangladesh. 2. Climatiq, whose solutions facilitate the Scope 1/2/3 calculation and reporting. 3. I3DEnergy, which offers an intuitive and visual data analysis of the company’s energy consumption   During a panel discussion around the implementation challenges of sustainable materials, moderated by Eszter Haberl and Iain Fleming,  I had the pleasure of discovering #tideoceanmaterial® whose mission is to retrieve plastic from the ocean and transform it into nice, customizable products.   Looking forward to the next Startup Autobahn meet-up.

A 2024 Debut of Innovative Hydrogen Bottles Technology🔥 The SUV has Pininfarina design and was created by a Franco-Moroccan startup company. Recently unveiled the concept version of its first-ever vehicle, an SUV with swappable hydrogen bottles, described as an HUV with new tech and Pininfarina design. NAMX patented a technology that brings together both a fixed H2 tank as well as six additional capsules that are removable and can be used as secondary tanks. This is meant to provide additional options for range and refueling. The NamX HUV is not just a concept car, but a promising glimpse into the future of green mobility. Innovation is using new methods to change something established

Swiss scale-up Bcomp Ltd’s high-performance components, which are made from natural flax fibers, enable substantial weight and #Co2 emission reductions compared to standard materials. Applications range from Formula 1 and #automotive to #aerospace. Investors in the company, which on April 16 announced a $40 million series C funding round, include BMW i Ventures, Volvo Cars Tech Fund and Porsche Ventures, as well as Airbus Ventures, Generali, and existing investors. Bcomp’s #circular, #naturalfibers composite promises to replace #carbonfibers, #glassfibers and #petrochemical-based #plastic parts, used to make everything from door handles to seatbacks, a small but important part of the journey to greener #mobility. “Our purpose is to #decarbonize with our #biobased materials,” says Bcomp CEO Christian Fischer. Bcomp is active in the automotive and mobility, motorsports, marine and sports sectors. Its proprietary reinforcement technologies ampliTex and powerRibs are used for making light and stiff composites that enable reduction of the environmental impact of products. While Bcomp’s primary focus in on the automotive sector it is already well-advanced in its effort to target the aviation sector. It has developed a solution that passes the fire retardancy and heat generation tests needed to adhere to tough aviation safety requirements. “It took us years to manage these aspects,” says Fischer.
