The Organian system was a star system located in the Beta Quadrant on the Federation-Klingon border. The system had six planets, including the class M Organia IV, homeworld of the Organians. (ST reference: The Worlds of the Federation)

The system's star was a bright yellow dwarf of magnitude +9. (ST references: The Worlds of the Federation, Star Charts)

In 2267 Organia became contested territory between the Federation and Klingon Empire, a fleet of Klingon warship was sent to claim the planet. As they approached the system the lone Starfleet vessel already present made a hasty exit to avoid a conflict, which the Klingons observed on long range sensors.
