Info
Cambrium's mission is to trigger the next wave of material innovation by harnessing biology’s molecular building blocks. We fundamentally believe that the ability to align economic and environmental incentives makes biology the most important manufacturing technology of the 21st century. Using our molecular design technology, we create novel material building blocks with previously inaccessible functionalities. Our molecules enable innovators to create products that are better for people, and the planet. We are a highly interdisciplinary team of scientists, engineers, designers and entrepreneurs, united by our vision to create materials that matter. Intrepid, vibrant, and purpose-driven we are on a quest to unlock the power of biology, and reinvent materials from the molecular level.

Recently, 50 scientists got together at the Pufendorf Institute for Advanced Studies - Lund University. Ozan Gemikonakli (Protein Data Scientist at Cambrium) and Sebastian Rämisch (Protein Designer at Cambrium) participated in an interactive workshop on data-driven biomaterial engineering. They presented Cambrium’s approach to AI-driven protein design, automated molecular biology workflows, and bio-based material testing & scale up. Thank you to all the organizers for this great event! #MaterialsThatMatter

Harnessing AI to unlock the next wave of material innovation! Our partner Benchling spotlighted us, showcasing how the Cambrium team is centralizing and standardizing data capture, structuring data efficiently for cross-functional collaboration, and scaling R&D throughput. Thanks to the Benchling team for the great collaboration! #MaterialsThatMatter
With all their data centralized on Benchling, the team at Cambrium can build more effective #AI models for the design of new, sustainable biomaterials. “Biology for the longest time has been about writing numbers in a paper notebook,” says Pierre Salvy. “Benchling helps us move towards a unified basis and uniform language in between the teams to capture the data.” Find out how they’re using Benchling to reduce time to milestone by achieving faster AI/ML feedback cycles: https://lnkd.in/ecVm6-9i #PoweredByAI #BuiltOnBenchling

Last week, we hosted a motivated group of visitors from the US, as part of the "STEM & Enterprise Learning and Understanding New Career Horizons" program set up by Cultural Vistas. This program brought 11 students from Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) studying STEM and economics to Berlin. Their mission was to connect with Germany’s start-up ecosystem and to explore career opportunities in business, research, and academia. At our HQ, the students discussed product development, business strategies, and career paths with our team, hearing firsthand about the diverse backgrounds and experiences that brought them to Cambrium. Shout out to our lab team for organizing a remote tour! Thank you for your visit and insightful questions! We hope to connect with many of you in the future. #MaterialsThatMatter
