Applications for Host Country 2025 Now Open!
Each year, a new host country brings unique perspectives and expertise, enriching the spirit of our AI House Davos. In our inaugural year, Switzerland’s tradition of innovation and neutrality played a pivotal role in shaping our initiative.
As we look forward to AI House 2025, we invite applications for the next host country. By embracing a multi-stakeholder approach, the chosen host country will shape the dialogues in AI research, investment, regulation, and broad industry adoption. This diverse infusion ensures our discussions are robust and inclusive, reflecting the varied strengths of each host country.
To learn more about partnership opportunities and the application process, join our information session at the end of July. We encourage candidate countries to apply with delegations from industry, academia, and government.

The medicine revolution is here 🧬 I’ll tell you the top 6 things you need to know about the crossroad between BioTech and AI!
Last week, we were privileged to hear from two speakers who are at the forefront of blending AI with biotech during the #Women’sAIBreakfast at the Merantix AI Campus: Jelena Ivanovska, PhD, CSO at Exazyme, and Noha Radwan from Inceptive.
Moderated by Nicole Büttner,Founder & CEO of Merantix Momentum, this BioTech edition explored the diverse career journeys of Jelena and Noha, exploring their transitions from academia to startups and the valuable lessons they've learned along the way.
Here are the top 6 highlights from the conversation:
🔍 AI in Biotech: We explored how AI is set to revolutionize biotech by speeding up processes, such as extrapolation in protein expression.
🔍 Startups vs. Big Pharma: The competitive edge of startups lies in their speed and innovative mindset. Big companies are often hindered by boundaries, bureaucracy, and hierarchy, which completely hinders innovation.
🔍 Investor Relations: Tips for pitching to investors, especially those without a scientific background, were shared. Simplifying scientific concepts, showcasing data, and visual prototypes are crucial. Most importantly, finding the right investors with relevant backgrounds is key.
🔍 Regulatory Issues: The discussion also touched on the challenges of regulatory compliance, intellectual property, and patient data protection. While progress has been slow, there is hope for a more streamlined process post-COVID.
🔍 European Health Data Space: Noha emphasized their in-house data production to validate design algorithms and the need for both high-quality and voluminous data. Jelena explained their focus on generating algorithms that can work with low-regime data, reflecting the reality of their clients' data limitations.
🔍 Startup Learnings: Jelena highlighted the importance of a trustworthy team and continuous idea validation, while Noha underscored the need for transparency, direct communication, and flexibility in the startup journey.
Thanks to Noha, Jelena, and Nicole for the openness and insights, and to Inceptive for sponsoring this session!
We look forward to continuing to create such inspirational spaces during the Women’s AI Breakfast sessions, to build and grow together. Stay tuned for future editions and share this group and community with friends and colleagues who might find it interesting 🤝

How is AI transforming retail and e-commerce? From customer experience to in-store automation and marketing innovation.. 🎥 Watch this video to find out!
This week, we tried answering this question at the Campus during the event “Retail Tomorrow” hosted by zenloop, where we joined four conversations:
🎙 The AI Disruption: Transforming Ideas into Reality at Lightning Speed.
Ali Naqi Shaheen, CTPO at zenloop, kicked off the event, highlighting how AI has dramatically transformed the CX space and shared core principles for leveraging AI to reinvent any aspect of business.
🎙 “Shine a light” on physical retail: Use existing cameras to understand stores in real-time.
Philipp Müller 🚀, CEO of Signatrix, provided a comprehensive overview of the challenges retailers face today. He emphasized how understanding in-store behavior can drive store automation and boost customer profitability through targeted actions.
🎙 How AI-powered immersive experiences will change eCommerce.
Jaime Gomez, Co-founder & CEO of Looks, captivated us with an analysis of Gen Alpha and Gen Z behaviors and presenting compelling AI-driven use cases in e-commerce, such as: AR makeup tools, fashion discovery and wardrobe optimization.
🎙 AI Innovations in Marketing: Enhancing Engagement and Performance.
Jonathan Heuser, Design & Marketing Lead at GLS/NXT, wrapped up the session by introducing GLS/NXT, GLS’s private consumer business innovation hub. He showcased some of their innovative initiatives, including a custom GPT for creative production that automates SEO copywriting and AI-based eye tracking, and the GLS Spotlight advertising platform, which displays advertisements during parcel tracking.
A big thank you to all the speakers and organisers for their insights. The future of CX with AI looks incredibly promising!

🎥 Video alert - How can multimodality and efficient data integration transform your AI projects for richer interactions and optimised workloads?
Last week, we hosted an event with SingleStore on how to build a real-time Multimodal RAG application in minutes. Here’s a brief recap of what the speakers discussed:
🎙 Sushrut Chafadker, Co-founder & CTO at topshelf
He explained topshelf's strategy of using a social network for users to share and review products, combined with AI-driven recommendations to provide personalised suggestions based on user interactions. He addressed challenges in AI, such as outdated information, understanding user preferences, and hallucinations, and highlighted the role of Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) in providing real-time context.
Additionally, he discussed technical aspects like context optimisation, behaviour or optimisation, and the infrastructure for deploying and scaling AI models, including cloud and self-managed variants.
🎙 Michael Englert, Principal Solution Engineer at SingleStore
He discussed the practical aspects of deploying AI models, emphasising the benefits of optimising context size to save costs and improve speed. He explained the separation of compute and storage in their setup, highlighting the flexibility in choosing compute size and regions in AWS, Azure, or GCP, and mentioned the inclusion of auto-scaling.
Michael also talked about using notebooks to interact with databases via Python and SQL and stressed the importance of flexible access to AI models to adapt to rapid innovations. He concluded by discussing AI trends, including the importance of specialised on-device models for certain tasks.
