Well better late than never: The Pufendorf Institute for Advanced Studies - Lund University is thrilled to announce our five new Themes and three new Advanced Study Groups, all starting in September 2024 - welcome to you all! There is never a dull moment in this place where interdisciplinary research takes precedence. Two articles about the Themes and ASGs in commentary below - enjoy!

The Swedish answer to the question: “How are you? How are things?” right now is: “Det är lite mycket nu!”, translating: “One more thing in my calendar and it will burst.” Nevertheless, we dare to suggest you make room for an afternoon, meeting our Pufendorf Theme: Relentless Existential Threats. The Theme invites you to a performance (by Hillside Projects) and discussions relating to existential well-being across individual, social, and global levels. When? 24 of May, 12.00 – approx.16.00 Where? You guessed it: Pufendorf Institute for Advanced Studies - Lund University, Biskopsgatan 3 More information and link to registration (admission is free, of course) in comments below. Addressing complex societal issues is part of every day work here at Pufendorf Institute for Advanced Studies - Lund University. On 4 April at 15.00-16.30, our international fellow Marie Koldkjær Højlund (from Aarhus University, Denmark) will hold an open lecture on how art- and design-based research can (and cannot) play a role in this. We will also get an insight in her exciting work in designing sound environments and installations for various public spaces and hospitals. Marie Koldkjær Højlund is a part of the Pufendorf IAS Theme: Sound of Democracy and her lecture is titled: Designing for sonic citizenship through art- and design-based research experiments. The lecture is (of course) free of charge and will (of course) include a coffee & cake. Register before 2 April. https://lnkd.in/d9a_r59y #design #sound #music #art Ljudmiljöcentrum Lunds Universitet Aarhus University Lund University
