Let’s start with this one from a computer
engineering company. Now this is a bold way
to recruit. But the best way of ensuring that
you get the best and brightest for your
company is by testing their skills before they
even apply!
This advert only
has a three word
job description,
“hungry designers
wanted” however
their message is
crystal clear. By
using a logo which
is similar but
slightly different
from Apple’s, they
are cleverly able to
target people with
an interest in
Apple.
For our next
example, we have
the most popular
fast food franchise
in the world,
McDonalds. See
how they start off
with extremely bold
and seemingly
offensive
statements. Only to
reveal in the fine
print the purpose of
the ad. It’s a great
way to catch the
attention of
potential job-
seekers.
This job advert is similar to one I showed you earlier where the
recruitment ad in itself serves as a test for the skills of a recruit.
Providing a challenge is a great way to filter serious candidates in
a job ad as it tests attention to spelling, grammar, detail and
creativity pre-CV.

short for the wrong

eye-catching!
If you’re tired of having to sift through
piles of applications and all the same CV’s,
you can easily cut down the applicants to
only the people who are capable of doing
the job by providing a difficult task. In this
advert, only those who can solve the
equation will be able to find out the
correct number to call.
This is a very creative ad that encourages
immediate engagement from applicants
whilst at the same time testing their
technical ability. In this ad, the applicants
must carefully fill in the QR code so they’re
able to scan and upload the application
form. Very smart!
Who said driving a school bus is no fun?
This one is a great and inspiring
campaign that targets potential school
bus drivers and tries to capture the
funny perks of the job.
Finally, to finish the list off is a creative ad
directed at potential web developers.

  • 4. Let’s start with this one from a computer engineering company. Now this is a bold way to recruit. But the best way of ensuring that you get the best and brightest for your company is by testing their skills before they even apply!
  • 5. This advert only has a three word job description, “hungry designers wanted” however their message is crystal clear. By using a logo which is similar but slightly different from Apple’s, they are cleverly able to target people with an interest in Apple.
  • 6. For our next example, we have the most popular fast food franchise in the world, McDonalds. See how they start off with extremely bold and seemingly offensive statements. Only to reveal in the fine print the purpose of the ad. It’s a great way to catch the attention of potential job- seekers.
  • 7. This job advert is similar to one I showed you earlier where the recruitment ad in itself serves as a test for the skills of a recruit. Providing a challenge is a great way to filter serious candidates in a job ad as it tests attention to spelling, grammar, detail and creativity pre-CV.
  • 8. A hidden ad in their website source code. Where else is better to place new coders recruitment notice?
  • 9. A recruitment agency created this ingenious campaign. Using everyday perspectives, this ad highlights the feeling of being trapped that working in the wrong job can cause. The ad states ‘Life’s too short for the wrong job’. It may not be very cheery but you can’t deny that it’s eye-catching!

If you’re tired of having to sift through piles of applications and all the same CV’s, you can easily cut down the applicants to only the people who are capable of doing the job by providing a difficult task. In this advert, only those who can solve the equation will be able to find out the correct number to call.
  • 11. This is a very creative ad that encourages immediate engagement from applicants whilst at the same time testing their technical ability. In this ad, the applicants must carefully fill in the QR code so they’re able to scan and upload the application form. Very smart!
  • 12. Who said driving a school bus is no fun? This one is a great and inspiring campaign that targets potential school bus drivers and tries to capture the funny perks of the job.
  • 13. Finally, to finish the list off is a creative ad directed at potential web developers.
