    The personality of Jackie and his pitch of services was pleasant and definitely made us want to sign up. Detailed description, listed differences between what we have and what Vivint has to offer. We very much appreciated the three free months of service, we could use the break and the no APR is definitely the cherry on top. The problem occurred afterwards. We woke this morning to two of our three dogs missing because our gate was left open. Now we thankfully found them eventually but I missed work, and the stress is still affecting our day today. Had to take our truck around for about two hours, found them, then when I left on my motorcycle I forgot to leave the truck keys for my lady to get to her job. So now she has to Uber to her job.

    On top of that, when I tried to determine if he left the gate open or not, I went to look at the footage and nothing was caught by the camera. I can understand the dogs not being detected but the technician was seen when he left last night. The representative got to our house between 6 and 7pm the tech didn't finish the install until 1130. We didn't mind but we have to work so we did mind but figured at least all the work would be done and done right instead of waiting this late for nothing. He had to work alone and it took him several hours. So we fed and hydrated them both. In addition, all the boxes were left with us in my living room. Now everything is hooked up and working but the lengthy process and my dogs, and the camera not detecting him leaving last night and the boxes, are all major inconveniences. I'm rethinking the commitment actually.

    My husband had answered the door and got some information that we would be interested in switching to Vivint from ADT. Some of the things that we addressed when I got off from work at 8pm, was that our doorbell camera was slow and no longer working, our doorbell did not work anymore either, and the back door of our house would never register the alarm, so we could actually never arm the house, fully. We had problems with the remote to the garage, among others. When the salesmen came in, he was so professional and so personable. I felt safe letting him inside our home and discussing what we wanted and didn’t need.

    My husband is raving about getting the solar panels for our energy bill to be stabilized, while I am excited to have the camera for the driveway and backyard. There has been some car theft going on, and having a toddler and my grandma that comes over to help, I want to feel protected when my husband is on nights. I like the feature of the light and that it will make the sound the most. I am also glad that the salesman told us about replacing our smoke detectors and CO2 detector every 10 years. Me being a nurse, and mom in general, I can’t wait to have new ones that I know I can count on now. I was impressed with the glass breakers, so of course we ordered those. And also the key fobs. I thought that was perfect for when my grandma comes with our toddler to spend the night because I have been having to wait for my dad to text me, when she is on the way, leaving 30-40 minutes of an unlocked door.

    Overall, the salesman was excellent, very well versed and trained, and was able to explain pricing and equipment costs. I was the MOST impressed with the 0% interest!! A few of our neighbors have gotten the system and I am so excited to tell them “thank you!” That night, the installation man came over to do what we could at 9pm. We told him if he could come back Friday since our toddler was sleeping, he said of course! He was very professional and nice. I can’t wait to see everything up and in action! Thank you so much to the salesman that came by and spoke to my husband that day!! I feel like this service is going to be a game changer for that feeling of safety for my whole family.

    A very nice young man introduced us to Vivint. He explained to us about cameras lights, broken glass detectors door opening and closing detectors, a special smoke detector, and a phone app. He helped estimate what it would cost for us, our interior access. We were interested, but not at what the monthly fee would turn out to be. He removed One camera. The smoke detector and recalculated bringing the monthly fee down to less than 100. I cannot remember if he explained that in 5 years the cost would drop. He had to call a manager a few times and I had to input information in my phone in all before the process was done six times. This was rather a little laborious. I'm 83 years old and not great at electronics. We made a deal after at least 4 hours. It was already close to 7:00 p.m. and I was surprised that he said a technician would come in 15 minutes. Well, I was not interested in installation after that already long day.

    The technician took longer than 15 minutes to arrive because somehow he had Northwest 35th Street instead of Northwest 35th Terrace. That was one of the reasons we redid the information on my phone. As I redid the information I noticed that it pre-populated with terrace, not Street. I do not blame this young man. I think it's something between the phone app and the company. In any case we rescheduled a technician for the following day.

    The technician was very nice, personable and competent. Installation took much longer than estimated which I blame more on our old house and the block walls than the technician. Again, it was almost 7:00 p.m. when he was finished and very little time was devoted to instructing us on use of the system. Also, I expected a yard sign or window stickers or something. I did not get them. He showed us how to find the company number to call and I probably will so that we can learn more about how to use our system.

    DO NOT RECOMMEND! THIS COMPANY IS AWFUL!

    1. The sales representative, Juan Pablo ** lied to me and stated that I had a 30-day risk free trial. This was completely false, when I tried to cancel the contract and return the equipment a few days later, the customer service rep indicated that the contract only has a 3-day trial period and that I could not cancel unless I paid $4000.

    2. On two separate occasions, including the initial install, the technician, Billy ** was at my house until after midnight!

    3. The technician, Billy **, did a faulty install of the smart thermostat and my house was a scorching 87 degrees the next day.

    4. The technician, Billy **, did a faulty install of the smart lock and I was locked out of my house.

    5. Once the technician, Billy **, replaced the smart lock back to my original lock, my door will no longer open, and it is currently stuck in the locked position.

    6. When I called the loyalty department and discussed these issues and cancelling the contract, I was assured a call back. However, no one ever returned my call.

    It's been great other than the detection zone, the doorbell rings by itself sometimes, and the doorbell volume is very low even with adjusted volume. I wish I could've trade out the thermostat with another camera or something because it isn't need or used. I was told my fingerprint lock could be sync with the system but it could not so that is disappointing.

    Vivint offers the best in alarm system technology and service. My family and I feel well protected. My wife especially appreciates the security it brings. I give 4 stars because about a year and a half ago we sold our home and bed to move in with in-laws for a period of time. During that time I tried to cancel and even after following the exact procedures for canceling, Vivint still charged me for several months. It was a real battle trying to get our money back.

    The other complaint I had was that the technician that installed our system had poor communication with me. I felt like he didn’t really explain what he was doing. He did a great job setting everything up! But just wish I would have had a heads up on what his plan was and where he thought sensors should go and why. Overall the best alarm system technology and service you’re going to get and that’s why we came back to them after the cancellation issues we had.
