The success factors in management consulting can be derived from various approaches. One of these approaches is the consideration of the roles that a management consultant perceives in the context of corporate management. However, the existing attempts to explain these roles are difficult to compare and do not provide a structure for the subject matter. This article therefore develops a reference framework that can be used to systematize both the understanding of roles and the roles themselves. In addition, a guide is offered for selecting and designing these roles.
