Inge is highly motivated to support the alignment of the HDA's operational framework with the European Health Data Space and future initiatives, ensuring compliance with European legal requirements. She was priorly working as a researcher and project manager at Sciensano and is acquainted with the context of the use of secondary data in Belgium and Europe, especially in rare diseases. RWD4BE - Real world data for better healthcare - Event On June 11, Inovigate presented the progress of its work on the RWD4BE project, aiming at implementing the RWD reuse framework and strategy in Belgium. The project aims at creating a connected health data reuse environment in Belgium. It will enable and implement a framework facilitating multi-stakeholder discussions and decision-making on the preferred RWD reuse solutions. 🎓 Health Data Valley event in Groningen    On 31st May, Katleen Janssens, the leading official at the HDA, took part in the Health Data Valley event in Groningen organised by Nexthealth (Maarten den Braber). She showcased how the Belgian Health Data Agency has established itself to the Dutch colleagues and healthcare ecosystem. Her presentation highlighted the role, objectives, and unique features of the Belgian context. The HDA looks forward to collaborating with HDAB-NL within the European Health Data Space (EHDS) framework. Katleen Janssens stated: “I was very pleased to be able to participate in the event in Groningen and to meet my Dutch colleagues. I reflected on the complex state structure in Belgium but was delighted to hear that we are already well advanced when it comes to the implementation of the EHDS regulation." 🌟Double the datasets, double the insight: our data catalogue just got bigger!   We started with 119 datasets when the HDA was launched in January. We are proud to now offer access to 246 health datasets, containing over 5.500 data points. Visit our data catalogue here: https://lnkd.in/dvX2ruXB and keep updated, we will continue to publish datasets!   Each of these datasets has been meticulously FAIRified according to qualitative criteria. The data points (which refers to the column name in datasets) have been described, linked with key harmonised concepts, classified by themes (data domains) and tags, and translated in 3 different languages to provide high-quality metadata.  All this content will also be stored using the DCAT-AP standard, enabling future interoperability with other catalogues.   🔍Which data have been added?   •     SPF Santé publique, Sécurité de la Chaîne alimentaire et Environnement provided the ‘Minimale Psychiatrische Gegevens / Résumé Psychiatrique Minimum’, which is a compulsory registration in all psychiatric hospitals and psychiatric departments in general hospitals in Belgium. •      Sciensano has delivered two valuable surveys - the 'Health Interview Survey' and the 'Food Consumption Survey' - which offer a global perspective on the health conditions and dietary habits of the Belgian population. •      AFMPS - Agence fédérale des médicaments et produits de santé detailed their reference datasets giving further insights on Pharmastatus. •      Datavindplaats delivered a wide range of statistics, mainly on health conditions per region and various cancers.   🎓 Want to learn more about our data catalogue? 📢 "Is data the future for better brain and mental health?" was the key topic of the symposium organised by the Belgian Brain Council. It was the central discussion for the inauguration of the Altruistic Data Association This event highlighted the outcomes of the collaborations with governmental entities, scientific experts, patient associations, and scientific societies.  Nick Marly, Advisor to the Minister of Public Health and Social Affairs, Vandenbroucke, delivered a keynote. He emphasized, "Great presentations and discussions. Creating trust and transparency, and involving citizens in every step is key in gathering high quality data, necessary for innovation, research and policy making.  Huge responsibility for all stakeholders, including government, hospitals, and industry."
