This is the 𝗖𝗼𝗿𝗽𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗦𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗥𝗲𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗗𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 (CSRD), the European regulation that came into force in January 2024. ⚖️ The CSRD introduces the ESRS (𝗘𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗦𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗥𝗲𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀), a set of 12 harmonized standards companies must follow for non-financial reporting. These standards cover 4 main topics: 2 cross-cutting standards (ESRS 1 and 2) and 10 topical standards focused on environmental (E1 to E5), social (S1 to S4), and governance (G1) aspects. 🧩 The 𝗘𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗦𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗥𝗲𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀 are at the cornerstone of the CSRD, providing a comprehensive framework for companies to report on their sustainability performance and impacts. 📈 March 2024 marked the 10th consecutive month to shatter global temperature records, according to the 𝗖𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗰𝘂𝘀 𝗖𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲. The month itself was 1.68°C warmer than the pre-industrial average, pushing the past year (April 2023-March 2024) to become the hottest ever recorded at 0.7°C above the 1991-2020 baseline. Europe wasn't spared either, experiencing its second-warmest March on record. Beyond Europe, regions like eastern North America, parts of South America and Africa all saw above-average temperatures.
