About us

Pride at Work is operated by Dublin LGBTQ+ Pride CLG, a not-for-profit community organisation dedicated to raising awareness of the discrimination faced by LGBTQ+ people, promoting diversity and inclusion in society, and championing equality for all people. Fees collected from training and partnerships support a variety of outreach initiatives and community projects. Pride at Work is the largest LGBTQ+ focused DEIB (diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging) training and partnership programme in Ireland. We share a common belief and commitment with all our Partners – Pride is more than a Day. Their year-round support, not just of Dublin Pride but a host of other LGBTQ+ organisations, demonstrates that commitment. Becoming a Pride Partner is a great way to show practical support for your LGBTQ+ community while benefiting from the services we offer. Through our workshops, we create a safe space for people to learn, explore new ideas, and ask questions without judgment. We also offer tailored training and consultation services.

We had some wonderful and impactful addresses from Roderic O'Gorman. We also had a keynote from Moninne Griffith, CEO of Belong To who are the Grand Marshalls in this years Dublin LGBTQ+ Pride CLG Parade and March and from Philippa Ryder, Chair of Dublin Pride with the conference being wonderfully chaired by Pride at Work's own Jed Dowling. And what an incredible line up of panelists and speakers we had too! More content on each panel to follow but thank you all of our panelists: Mamobo O., Siobhán McKenna, Tsholofelo Chedu Peba, Luke McLoughlin, Emer O’Neill, Jakub Urbaniak, Laura O'Donovan (She/Her), Conor Buckley, Jamie Kenny, Karina Murray, Andrew Hannon, Sonya Mulligan, Colm Molloy, Dessie Brosnan and Caitríona Bairéad. ISL was delivered by the fabulous Vanessa O'Connell She/Her with Luna Fraher and Sarah Garvey. Thank you to Radisson Blu Royal Hotel Dublin City for hosting the event and a huge thank to the conference sponsors: Sky, Optum and Nestlé, all the organisations who had stands and Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth for your continued support. Last but certainly not least, thank you Davis Events Agency and Safe Events Global for showing us how to get everything all set for the 2024 Dublin LGBTQ+ Pride Parade and March taking place on Saturday, June 29th! From all of us here at Pride at Work, we can't wait to make 2025 even bigger and better!

Happy International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, Interphobia and Transphobia (IDAHOBIT). Every May 17th, the global LGBTQ+ community organises worldwide events that raise awareness of LGBTQ+ rights violations and stimulate interest in LGBTQ+ rights work worldwide, with events taking place in over 130 countries. The date was chosen to commemorate the anniversary of the removal of homosexuality from the International Classification of Diseases of the World Health Organisation (WHO) in 1990. Here in Ireland, we’ve made great strides in social inclusion and legal protection for minorities and marginalised groups, but many still face discrimination, so it’s always important to challenge bigotry when you encounter it. As of 2024, homosexuality is still criminalised in 64 countries; at least 12 of these have a death penalty for homosexuality. There is still much to do, but we’ll get there together. #IDAHOBIT2024 #NooneLeftBehind #DublinPride

We’re celebrating 50 years of Dublin Pride, our Golden Jubilee, and our theme is SHINE. Shine means to give forth light, but it also means to cast light into dark places, or to restore the brilliance of things that have gotten dull. Pride celebrates the light we all hold, but it is brightest when it is shared. We invite you to shine, both in your own pride, and to be a light for those who may be in the dark right now. Join us on Saturday June 29th and help light our march. After the Parade we have 2 amazing festival events with something for everyone. Pride Village | A celebration of LGBTQ+ community and culture from 1.00pm to 6.00pm in Merrion Square Park. This is a free event. Mother Pride Block Party | Returning to the glorious surroundings of the National Museum, the Pride Block Party is the biggest annual Pride Party on our island and runs from 4.00pm to 11.00pm. You can book tickets here at https://ow.ly/fNIl50QZOsf Dublinpride.ie

Diversity, Inclusion & Sustainability. Festival Director Dublin LGBTQ Pride, Programme Lead Pride at Work and postgrad student UCD.

Last Saturday we did our first walking tour of the year, Pride at Work partners can swap one of their training sessions for a queer walking tour of the city. I have a few favourite places to take tours, and at the very top of the list is Grafton Street. It’s not easy bringing a group down Grafton Street on a Saturday afternoon, but from top to bottom it’s filled with so much queer history that it’s worth it. My favourite story that I tell is the day Grafton Street stood still for the funeral of The Diceman (Thom McGinty), shops closed so their staff could watch, people took turns carrying his coffin and crowds on the street applauded till their hands were sore. For me the story is a reminder that however far we think we’ve come in terms of inclusion in Irish society, the reality is it was always there, and maybe sometimes it was just on one street, but it was a big street with a lot of people on it. Today is 29 years since Thom died, it’s worth remembering who he was and what he did.
