We held our annual Pride at Work Conference on Monday and I think its safe to say it was a huge success! Thank you to everyone who took the time to join us both in person and online. We had some wonderful and impactful addresses from Roderic O'Gorman. We also had a keynote from Moninne Griffith, CEO of Belong To who are the Grand Marshalls in this years Dublin LGBTQ+ Pride CLG Parade and March and from Philippa Ryder, Chair of Dublin Pride with the conference being wonderfully chaired by Pride at Work's own Jed Dowling. And what an incredible line up of panelists and speakers we had too! Happy International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, Interphobia and Transphobia (IDAHOBIT). Every May 17th, the global LGBTQ+ community organises worldwide events that raise awareness of LGBTQ+ rights violations and stimulate interest in LGBTQ+ rights work worldwide, with events taking place in over 130 countries. The date was chosen to commemorate the anniversary of the removal of homosexuality from the International Classification of Diseases of the World Health Organisation (WHO) in 1990. Here in Ireland, we’ve made great strides in social inclusion and legal protection for minorities and marginalised groups, but many still face discrimination, so it’s always important to challenge bigotry when you encounter it. As of 2024, homosexuality is still criminalised in 64 countries; at least 12 of these have a death penalty for homosexuality. There is still much to do, but we’ll get there together. #IDAHOBIT2024 #NooneLeftBehind #DublinPride

We’re celebrating 50 years of Dublin Pride, our Golden Jubilee, and our theme is SHINE. Shine means to give forth light, but it also means to cast light into dark places, or to restore the brilliance of things that have gotten dull. Pride celebrates the light we all hold, but it is brightest when it is shared. We invite you to shine, both in your own pride, and to be a light for those who may be in the dark right now.
