About us
Transgender Equality Network Ireland (TENI) seeks to improve conditions and advance the rights and equality of trans* people and their families. TENI engages in activities that promote the equality and well-being of trans people in Ireland in three main areas: Support: We offer a range of support services that aim to increase the well-being of trans people and their families by providing support that mitigates common experiences of isolation, misunderstanding and exclusion. Advocacy: We advocate across legal, medical, societal and political structures to ensure that policy development and legislative reform reflects the positive recognition of trans inclusion, rights and equality. Education: We provide workshops and trainings that increase awareness, understanding and inclusion of trans issues across key sectors of Irish society. TENI is a non-profit member-driven organisation, founded in 2005 and registered as a company limited by guarantee in February 2010. The governance is provided by a volunteer Board and operations are led by the Chief Executive and staff.

One week on from the wettest Dublin Pride we can remember, and we're still smiling! The rain couldn't dampen our spirits 🌈 Thank you so much to the team Dublin LGBTQ+ Pride CLG for such a great day, and thank you to our speaker Jade Nolan for such an uplifting end to the day. And thank you to everyone who came out on the day to shout and scream and dance in the rain with us! Can't wait till the next one 🌈 🎉

Transgender Equality Network Ireland reposted this
Thank you so much to Oisin O'Reilly and the Outhouse LGBTQ+ Centre crew for inviting me to attend on behalf of Transgender Equality Network Ireland. We had some really good conversations about the state of play for LGBTQIA+ people in Ireland and abroad, particularly on the area of trans healthcare. It’s also always nice to get together in a room full of people all fighting the same fight!
CEO Outhouse LGBTQ+ Centre, diversity and inclusion activist, non-profit leader and board member, keynote speaker, governance expert, fundraising specialist, leadership and strategic development, problem solver.
I was honoured to host Jessica Stern, U.S. Special Envoy to Advance the Human Rights of LGBTQI+ Persons, at Outhouse LGBTQ+ Centre this week for a roundtable discussion with leaders from LGBTQ+ organisations across Ireland. We discussed pressing issues including: - Increasing global polarisation on LGBTQ+ rights - The importance of ‘All Island’ cooperation - Positive impacts of Ireland's National LGBTI+ Inclusion Strategy - The ongoing genocide in Palestine and our call for an immediate ceasefire - Rising hate and extremism against LGBTQ+ communities - Urgent healthcare needs of trans and intersex individuals - The threat of 'dark money' supporting anti-LGBTQ+ advocacy These conversations are vital for driving meaningful change and fortifying our collective efforts to advance LGBTQ+ rights and equality in Ireland and worldwide. #HumanRights #GlobalAdvocacy #GayDublin #LGBTPride #DublinPride #LGBTQRights #Diplomacy #Inclusion #TransRights #IntersexRights #StopHate #LGBTQI+

Today, we honor the legacy of the Stonewall Riots, a pivotal moment in the fight for LGBTQ+ rights. As we reflect on the courage of those who stood up for justice 55 years ago, we also celebrate the strength and resilience of our community today. This anniversary is a powerful reminder that our journey continues, especially for our trans siblings who still face discrimination and violence. Together, we must amplify our voices and stand united in our community with commitment for equality and acceptance for all!

🎨 Feeling creative? We're hosting a Pride poster making session in the TENI Office on Monday 24th June! Posters created on the day can be left in the office to dry, and we will bring them to our Pride Breakfast on the morning of Dublin Pride for you to collect. We're splitting the session up, so young people (under 18's) and their families are welcome from 4-6pm, and everyone else (18+) can come from 6-8pm. For more information, please email office@teni.ie
