The document is a presentation comparing the content management systems (CMS) Drupal and WordPress. It provides an overview of the origins and development of each CMS. Drupal is developed as an open-source project by a community, while WordPress is developed by Automattic and a community. Each has strengths for different types of websites, with Drupal generally handling more complex sites and WordPress being better for blogs and brochure sites. Industry support exists for both platforms.
The document compares Drupal and WordPress, noting that WordPress has significantly more active installations, plugins, themes, and larger community than Drupal. However, Drupal can do everything that WordPress can do plus more advanced features. The document suggests that Drupal needs to improve its usability, documentation, bundled features, and finish development work to close the gap with WordPress.

Constan4ne Karbalio4s gave a presenta4on to the Chief Privacy Officers Council on privacy issues in cloud compu4ng. He discussed that while cloud compu4ng provides benefits like cost savings and scalability, it also poses privacy and security risks if not properly governed. Research shows most organiza4ons are adop4ng cloud technologies without adequate vendor evalua4on, employee training, or privacy policies to protect sensi4ve data in the cloud. The real problem is that cloud migra4on is occurring in an ad hoc manner without proper oversight and controls, despite the growing use of cloud compu4ng by organiza4ons.

Flash will continue to be valuable for enterprise applications, multi-screen development, leveraging the large community of developers and libraries, playing video due to HTML5's lack of DRM and compatibility issues, games due to better performance than HTML5, and translating interaction models through established design principles. While HTML5 and native apps are emerging, Flash still provides benefits in these key areas.
Adobe Flash has evolved from a tool for simple vector animations and interactivity to a platform for rich media, games, and applications, but recent developments have diminished its role on the modern web. It started by adding capabilities like video playback and webcam support. However, the rise of mobile devices without Flash support, and the development of open web standards for multimedia, led Flash's prominence to decline. While still used for games, video, and by some creators, its future role is uncertain as HTML5 and native apps become more capable.
HTML5 vs. Flash is a comparison of the two multimedia technologies. HTML5 is a collection of individual features like CSS3, JavaScript Canvas, video, and geolocation that work across browsers without plugins. While Flash requires a plugin, HTML5 works everywhere due to growing browser support. Both technologies can be used together, with HTML5 better for lighter content and Flash better for complex interactive content.

The document discusses various HTML5 features and whether the Dojo JavaScript library is compatible with them. It examines Dojo's support for semantic elements, forms, Canvas/SVG graphics, WebGL, and web workers. While Dojo addresses many HTML5 features through its own APIs, its support for some newer specs like WebGL is still limited compared to other libraries.
HTML5 is the latest revision of HTML that defines new elements and features to improve the semantic structure of web pages and make developing interactive web applications easier. It includes new elements for embedding video and audio, drawing graphics with the canvas element, and enabling offline web applications. While HTML5 is still under development, many modern browsers already support key features like video, geolocation, and local storage. HTML5 aims to make web development simpler by building on existing HTML standards and not requiring changes to existing code.
The document traces the history of Flash Lite from its origins with Macromedia through key events like the acquisition by Adobe. Mobile devices are growing rapidly, with 46% of US adults owning a smartphone in 2012. The largest demographic of smartphone owners is ages 18-44. As mobile devices become more prevalent in classrooms, it forces a more student-centered and collaborative approach to teaching. However, there are also challenges like limited broadband access, students needing training to use devices for learning, and restrictive policies. Additionally, many existing educational resources may not be compatible with mobile devices due to issues playing Flash content on platforms like the iPad. Converting resources to be iOS compatible will help address this problem.
HTML5 provides new capabilities that improve website design and functionality. It allows for richer content like video and audio without plugins, as well as features like drag and drop and geolocation. HTML5 makes content more organized and search friendly. It also enables responsive design for multiple devices. Marketers can benefit from HTML5 through better search engine optimization, support for mobile and rich media, and cross-browser email compatibility. While still evolving, HTML5 is important to adopt now to prepare websites for the future.
HTML5 defines the latest revision of HTML that adds new semantic elements and graphical capabilities. It is still being developed by the W3C, but browsers already support some features like canvas, video, and geolocation. HTML5 provides features like native audio and video playback, offline web applications, and an improved drawing surface, along with other capabilities, without requiring browser plugins. However, there are still ongoing discussions around issues like video formats and concerns about privacy controls as HTML5 enables new ways of tracking users.

Limitée à l'IT ?
