LHG meets TUM! 🚀 33 students of the TUM School of Management had a chance to pitch their innovative solutions to challenges of the aviation industry in front of Jens Ritter - CEO of the Lufthansa airlines - and other representatives of the Lufthansa Group. Over two months, committed Lufthansa Group mentors supported the students in developing solutions to important current topics of the aviation industry, such as changing customer needs or artificial intelligence. We appreciate their hard work, vision, and fearless approach to thinking outside the box. Their passion is truly impressive, showcasing the kind of innovative thinking that will drive our industry forward. After the pitches, the students had the exciting opportunity to join an insightful panel talk with dedicated Lufthansa Group employees. Their knowledge, insights, and passion for Lufthansa Group was palpable and truly appreciated by the students who asked burning questions about the working culture or job opportunities at the Lufthansa Group. The event was rounded off with special goodies, a photo booth where the students could capture this exciting day 📸 and a hangar tour with Lufthansa Technik. Pride Take-Off 2024 - Hosted by Lufthansa Group's queer employee network #Diversifly🌈 On July 4, #PrideDayGermany, the traditional Diversifly Pride Take-Off took place for the first time at the Flight Operation Center in Munich. Employees from various areas of the company, guests from politics: Doris Rauscher (Member of the Bavarian State Parliament, SPD), Jakob Schneider (Deputy Federal Chairman LSU) and Astrid Neben (Chief Human Resources Officer Lufthansa Airlines) took part in the Pride Take-Off. The core of the event was to promote the exchange between the participants, to make current topics of the queer community visible and to enable cross-company networking. Representatives from numerous companies accepted the network's invitation. Guests from Allianz, BMW, Linde, M/net, Disney, Stadtwerke München and many more were in attendance. The evening was hosted by local Diversifly spokesperson Lukas Braun and network spokespersons Carl-Friedrich Flothmann and Fabian Kieper. Focal topics were matters such as the increase in hate crimes against the queer community, as well as hate speech on social media. Empowering positions for the community were taken not only by politicians, but also by the company side. This was reaffirmed by Astrid Neben: "Lufthansa stands for the fact that everyone on board experiences a safe space in their individuality and can feel safe - customers and employees alike. This claim applies to us as Lufthansa employees in our everyday work and, in my view, beyond. It is important to consciously take a stand and position ourselves if there is even the slightest perception of intolerance. Standing up to discrimination is not only the responsibility of those affected, but also of all of us as Allies." Events like this show how important it is to learn from each other and to form a joint alliance for the good cause.

On Tuesday, Bitkom hosted the Digital Aviation Roundtable with the Lufthansa Group Innovation Runway, where we welcomed key industry players and external guests for a keynote and discussion at the Lufthansa Aviation Center 🛫. We have talked about the fact that the individual players along the travel chain need to work hand in hand 🤝and that the value of data 📊 and the exchange of data between players is crucial. Welcomed by competent and motivated colleagues, she witnessed the high-pressure environment where tight schedules require quick turnarounds and no two days are the same. Her reflections? ❓ “What paths do graduates take”? is one of the most frequently asked questions, especially for our ProTeam Trainee Program. We asked Ann-Katharina, who recently graduated and is now successfully taking the next steps in her career as Lufthansa Cargo Manager Production Support! In this position she is responsible for the continuous development of all handling processes and the production strategy. Anna-Katharina wraps it up with her own words: “For me, the ProTeam stands for new opportunities, chances to think outside of the box, leaving your comfort zone, experiencing different departments and cultures, and getting to know many interesting people. Today is "Pride Day Germany", the official day of action of PROUT AT WORK-Foundation to promote queer diversity in the workplace. To mark the occasion, Lufthansa conducted a dedicated Pride flight today with the Lovehansa (registration: D-AINY). Before departure of LH1310 to Malta, the rainbow flag was waved out of the cockpit window as a visible sign of acceptance and diversity. 🌈 ✈

What a fantastic day at the WeTech Innovation Slam by frühstarter - Talente für die Wirtschaft, hosted by Lufthansa Technik! ✈ From assembling an engine (a LEGO version 😉) in 29 seconds to sitting in the cockpit and touching the innovative sharkskin film, it was an event filled with excitement and discovery. Over 300 IT and engineering students gathered in our aircraft hangar to hear inspiring pitches and explore interactive product stands from seven participating companies. The diversity of pitches was truly impressive. Highlights included IBM's AI assistant CIMON, Airbus´s cybersecurity advancements, CHECK24 Vergleichsportal's Euro 2024 app and Marlene Roth who took to the stage and shared personal insights about Lufthansa Technik, emphasizing our diverse IT and engineering fields. After the pitches, students engaged with various stands, including Lufthansa Technik's wide product portfolio. The Lego engine challenge, VR tours, and GuideU's third-generation light strips were crowd favorites. A huge thank you to everyone who joined us, making this event a remarkable success. It was incredible to see so many bright minds from across Northern Germany come together, eager to learn and connect. 🤝🏼 As the evening cleared up, participants enjoyed exclusive access to the training aircraft cockpit and the Hydrogen Aviation Lab, leaving with unforgettable memories.
