Working for Southwest Airlines was one of the best professional experiences I've ever had. Their internship application is open so if you're thinking about applying, here are 3 tips along with 3 benefits of working for one of the best airline companies on the planet: 1. Networking Use LinkedIn to find individuals working in the position that you're looking for. Hear directly from them what is the best way to get there. 2. Tailor your application Highlight the relevant skills and experiences you have during college that match the job description of the position you're applying for. 3. Make sure their values match your values Do your homework to find out if this is the right org for you, and if it is make sure to showcase your Warrior Spirit, Servant’s Heart, and Fun-LUVing Attitude. + Bonus: I'd 100% follow Manzel Chapman and David Harvey to stay up to date ;) Oh, and the benefits: 1. ✈️ Improving Airport Operations: Lessons from My Internship at Adani Airport Holdings Ltd. I'm excited to share some lessons from my internship at Adani Airport Holdings Ltd. I learned the applications of The Frederick Taylor's Scientific Management Theory to make airport terminal operations more efficient. 🛠️ Key Applications: Time and Motion Studies: We studied how passengers move through security and boarding gates. By breaking down each step, we found ways to reduce waiting times. Standardization of Tasks: We created standard procedures for things like check-in and baggage handling. This helped maintain high service quality and made training new staff easier. Division of Labor: We assigned tasks based on staff skills. Experienced employees were placed in busy areas, ensuring smooth operations during peak hours. Incentive Systems: We introduced rewards for staff who performed exceptionally well. This motivated everyone to work more efficiently and provide great customer service. 📈 Real-World Impact: These changes led to big improvements at the airport: Reduced Waiting Times: Streamlined processes led to a reduction in passenger wait times at check-in and security. Increased Customer Satisfaction: Consistent procedures and skilled staff made for happier passengers. Cost Savings: Efficient management led to cost savings, allowing better resource allocation. 🤔 Reflection: This experience showed me how Taylor’s management principles can improve modern airport operations. Efficiency and systematic analysis can lead to significant improvements, even in complex settings. Balancing these principles with employee well-being and innovation is also important. I'm grateful for the chance to learn this management theory and see its real-world benefits. How have you improved efficiency in your work? Let’s connect and share ideas! #Internship #AirportManagement #Efficiency #ScientificManagement #AdaniAirports #Operations #FrederickTaylor #Business #BusinessCaseStudy

#NationalInternDay may have been last week, but at Southwest Airlines – every day is Intern Day. And you know why? Because every Intern is treated exactly like an employee – even after their internship ends – no matter what direction one may end up going 🥳🥳🥳. Life works in mysterious ways 💗 – and everyone’s journey is different. Your journey to a new career can began in an instant. While for others, it can take multiple routes to get to that destination. In order to succeed, we must first believe that we can – and in order to believe, you need to be faced with some sort of refusal to push yourself to make you remember that you are superior💯. The harder you push, the more rewards you will seek, and it happens when you least expect it. This Red Carpet is super special because one of our Spring Interns is walking down our Red Carpet today🎉. I remember conducting Andrew Moss onboarding during his internship, and like all of our interns, he had the heart, and passion of a true SWA Warrior – and is a true story, of how you begin an internship at Southwest, you are not just a number – but you become a part of the family sooner than you think! ✨️ Congrats Andrew (recruiter by our very own Allison), and all our 300 Newest Cohearts that will be embarking in a journey of a lifetime.✨️ 💙 If you want to be like Andrew, and embark in an internship that will eventually lead you to a full-time career, check out our Internship Page ➡️ https://lnkd.in/gsW8mv5P ❤️ If you are ready to begin the Flight of Your Life, we have openings from Corporate, Technology, and Airport Operations, check out our Newest openings ➡️ https://lnkd.in/gSgQFtfG 💛 If you haven’t found what you are looking for, be sure to sign up for our Job Alerts to be alerted when a opportunity based on your interest becomes available, upload your resume & recieve weekly alerts ➡️ https://lnkd.in/gbYtQGrk #recruiting #networking #jobseekers #aviation #culture #letsconnect #jobs

🌟 Exciting Announcement: Wrapping up my Internship Journey at FEV Consulting GmbH 🌟 As I bid farewell to my internship at FEV Consulting Munich office, I'm thrilled to share the culmination of months of dedicated work on my thesis titled "Market Demand Model of Passenger Air Travel Using System Dynamics." 🛫 🔍 Abstract Snapshot: My study delved into developing a robust system dynamics model aimed at forecasting passenger air travel demand for the year 2050. The intricate web of interdependencies in this dynamic environment was unraveled through a comprehensive PESTLE analysis, identifying key factors influencing demand. These insights were then meticulously woven into a Causal Loop Diagram, a roadmap for understanding the intricate dance of variables shaping the future of air travel. 🤝 Industry Validation: The journey didn't end there! A pivotal step involved subjecting the model to qualitative validation via an expert round table session with industry professionals at FEV Consulting GmbH. Their invaluable insights refined the model, ensuring its fidelity in capturing the nuances of the ever-evolving aviation landscape. 📈 From Diagrams to Forecasts: The Causal Loop Diagram metamorphosed into a dynamic stock and flow diagram, complete with equations representing the complex relationships within. Variables such as Population Growth, GDP per Capita, and Airfare Impact took center stage, illustrating their profound impact on passenger air travel demand. 🌐 Scenarios for the Future: To glimpse into the future, three scenarios were crafted: Business as usual forecast, Oil Price Hike Scenario, and Recession Scenario. These scenarios painted a vivid picture of potential outcomes, serving as a strategic tool to anticipate and prepare for the twists and turns in the industry landscape. 🌟 Validation Across the Horizon: In a thrilling moment of validation, the results of my study were benchmarked against forecasts from industry giants like International Air Transport Association (IATA), Boeing, and, of course, FEV Consulting. The consistency found with their projections underscores the significance of this study in contributing to the collective understanding and forecasting of passenger air travel demand. I'm proud to declare that the objectives of this study have been successfully achieved. I am immensely grateful for the support and mentorship received from Dr. Hagen Wegner during my internship in his capacity as an advisor hailing from FEV Consulting; Dr. Marcin Szymkowiak and Especially Dr. Liliya Satalkina for being the best supervisor throughout (which I'm genuinely telling my heart out :D). Looking forward to applying these insights and skills in future endeavors! 🚀 #InternshipJourney #SystemDynamics #AviationForecasting #FEVConsulting #PassionForAviation ✈️

If I ever need to choose only one word to describe my MIT journey at Four Seasons, I will definitely go for the “privilege” one. This might sound too much; however, it is exactly what I could think of after being given so many opportunities to learn, to ask, to practise, to work and to act here at Four Seasons Resort The Nam Hai, Hoi An. I always regard myself as a “planner” who prefers organising everything on my own from the original plan A to the back-up plan Z, to waiting for what the universe is putting in order for me. This might be unnecessary since we all know that life is not working that way. But believe me, living with a plan makes you feel more proactive and really gives you the direction. My goal of becoming an MIT here was first started when I was learning about the company’s internship programs to prepare for my very 1st mandatory one at university. After experiencing myself and learning that this is exactly the right place, I started working harder on my personal image, paying more attention to my studies and seriously building up the required profile until I received a nod of approval: “You are potential, and we would like to give you this chance.” That was also when I knew my hard work would definitely pay off. I have currently completed 3/4 of my training progress as an MIT by being rotated in different service sectors to gain a deep understanding of their functions and responsibilities with the guidance from my leaders and seniors. Despite several shortcomings, I am pleased to see myself growing and becoming a better version that I always expect myself to be. There will still be a long way to go, but I appreciate all the opportunities given and want to thank myself for never thinking of giving up. And that is my journey with Four Seasons. What about yours? To become a part of us and explore your possibilities, apply today at: https://lnkd.in/g-F28e_F #WeAreFourSeasons #FSvoices #Hopsitality #Hiring #Opportunity

As I am settling into week four of grad school, I am noticing that internship experience is a great conversation starter when it comes to getting to know classmates. Each time I hear about the experiences of my colleagues and reflect on my own, I become more grateful for the time I spent in my summer internship at Hyatt Hotels Corporation. In a profession where I have concerns about where I can be most impactful, whether I can achieve a healthy work-life balance, and which path might be right for me, I am proud to look back fondly on an internship experience which put my mind at ease. Put simply and truthfully, here are a few highlights from my internship: + I was encouraged to connect with other interns, and I built some great relationships + There were people who looked like me at all levels of the org chart, ranging from my intern class to the C-suite + We were provided opportunities for mentorship, and we were encouraged to reach out to professionals of all roles for connections and coffee chats + Providing a direct example of how Hyatt cares for people so they can be their best, the CEO Mark Hoplamazian made time in his schedule to sit with the interns for a round table talk + Work-life balance was a priority there!!! A great example was the team-wide meeting in the tax department, in which we opened with a colleague sharing about his vacation and transitioning into the importance of taking PTO and setting healthy boundaries. (Thanks Gina Faralli and Leanne Lee for being great team leaders!) + My manager, James Rizzuti, encouraged me to ask questions, take initiative, and collaborate with other team members. He allowed others to delegate tasks to me as well, providing a well-rounded experience and showing me opportunities within tax that I didn’t know existed. + The recruitment team encouraged camaraderie among interns and invited us to share positive and constructive feedback about our experiences. (Thanks Carlee Christy, Mary Kapsch, and Cory McLaughlin for being so personable!) This is not by any means an exhaustive list of my favorite parts of working at Hyatt, and I could tag a long list of people who made my experience memorable, but I wanted to share a few parts that left me feeling encouraged about my future in accounting.

👩🏭Yesterday marked the end of my internship at Air Liquide✨ During my nearly six-month tenure as a digital marketing intern, I assisted my team in planning and coordinating the digital marketing transformation across 12 countries in the Asia-Pacific region. This experience opened my eye for gas industry and deepen my insight into collaborative operations within a global organization. I would like to express my deep grateful to my supervisor, Tina He Xiao and my colleague Renee Schellekens for their patient guidance and selfless support. Tina always sharing learning opportunities to me outside of work, showing me how one should continuously refine their expertise and remain open-minded in pursuit of leveling up. I also want to appreciate the inclusive, open, and continuously learning team culture fostered by the fantastic IM ROC Markets team: Elena Wong, Caren Quek, Tan, Quentin Mignucci , Roderick Ler, Eiichi MIZUTANI -san, and Kenneth K., I have always benefited from your sharings and supports. Additionally, thanks to my fellows, Naresh Kumar, Jingwen Chen, Jingwen Xiong, and Guey Charmaine for team me up on this learning and growth journey. A special thanks to R. M. for always cheering me up, generously sharing his wisdom to help with me, reinforcing my belief in the power of kindness and inspiring me to help others in the same way. 🍎My three most important takeaways from this experience are: 🔹 Communication within an organization is always challenging; ensure that every interaction is professional, clear, constructive, and positive. 🔹When learning new knowledge quickly, focus on frequent repetition rather than perfection. 🔹Maintain kindness and energetic; let people around you know you care about their day. This concludes my story at Air Liquide, but I will carry this valuable experience and friendship I made there forward in my future growth forever 💖. #airliquide #timetosaygoodbye #unforgetableexperience
