Lt Gen Pushkar joins Kharga Corps
Chandigarh: Lieutenant General Rajesh Pushkar on Monday took over as the general officer commanding (GOC) of the prestigious Kharga Corps.
He is an armoured corps officer with a vast experience in command, staff and instructional appointments in both operational and non-operational areas.
The general officer, prior to Kharga Corps, has commanded an armoured regiment in an operational area, a strategic independent armoured brigade and an infantry division in the western sector of the country.

In his military career spanning over 35 years, he has the distinction of serving at Indian Military Training Team, Bhutan and as defence & military attache, embassy of India, Moscow with accreditation to Armenia and Belarus. The general officer is a graduate of National Defence Academy, College of Defence Management, Secunderabad and National Defence College of India, New Delhi.
Before taking over the reins of Kharga Corps, the general officer was tenating the appointment of director general territorial army at Integrated Headquarters of Ministry of Defence (Army). On assuming the command of Kharga Corps, Pushkar visited Vijay Smarak Kharga Corps War Memorial and paid homage to the gallant soldiers.
