Expressing both joy and apprehension, Shahid revealed, "Having a girl makes you feel like ‘oh god…’ because I had just gotten married, and the first thing I did was call Mira’s dad and say, ‘Dad, if I did anything to trouble you in the shaadi (wedding), I am really sorry.’"
The actor further elaborated on the profound impact of fatherhood, sharing that the realization of having a daughter who would one day marry brought a rush of thoughts about the future. He described the experience as both "amazing" and deeply special, as it fulfilled a wish shared between Mira and him.
Since then, Shahid and Mira have continued to grow their family with the birth of their son, Zain, born on September 5, 2018.
Meanwhile, as Shahid and Mira are celebrating their 9th wedding anniversary on this day (July 7), the latter shared a special video on Instagram with a note, “You’re the one I…Happy 9, love of my life @shahidkapoor.”
