MA in Learning & Teaching from De La Salle University (DLSU) Manila. •Spent 16 years in the field of Aviation Support. •Full time IT Consultant & Business owner now. •Dad to Robyn Andi Xeon & Bea Gaia Haswell. •Firefox user since version 1.
- 4. History of Mozilla On 23 Feb 1998, Netscape Communications Corp. created a project called Mozilla (Mosaic + Godzilla). Mozilla was launched 31 Mar 1998.
- 5. Mozilla’s Mission Build the Internet as a global public resource, open & accessible to all.
- 6. Mozilla in the Philippines •No Mozilla employee based in the Philippines. •The Mozilla Philippines Community (MozillaPH) is composed of volunteers: students & professionals since Sep 2009. •There are 09 Mozilla Representative (ReMo) in the country as of date. •Hundreds of Firefox Student Ambassadors (FSA) across 7,000 islands.

The Mozilla Community •The Mozilla Community uses, develops, spreads & supports Mozilla and promotes free software and open standards. •Mozilla is a free software community which produces the Firefox web browser. •In the PHL, we started around Sep 2009. •Currently, there are 09 Mozilla Reps in the PHL under the guidance of a Community Manager. o All volunteers.

- 13. Shared Beliefs •Some may say it is only applicable to the corporate world. •Defines the purpose, mission and core values of the community. o Regular Strategic Planning •Why do we have the community in the first place?
- 14. Shared Responsibility & Ownership •Responsibility is a feeling of ownership. •Who’s responsible for what? o Don’t wait for someone to take the task if you know that you may handle it well. •What are my responsibilities under shared ownership? •Teamwork is key.
- 15. Shared Leadership •Leadership does not depend on a single person. •How people act together to make sense of the situations that face them. •Majority vote wins. •All are born leaders.
- 16. Open Communications •Your left hand must know what the right hand is doing. •Find solutions as a team. •Be transparent to one another. •In the PHL, we have a common email <info@>
