The staff of Pacific Clinics has been contracted by Contra Costa Health to operate the new unit. Staff may help patients with crisis intervention, #mentalhealth assessment, medication assistance and therapy. They will also offer alcohol and drug screening services, case management and peer support. “The goal is to stabilize the unit’s patients and connect them with mental health services without requiring inpatient hospitalization,” Contra Costa Health said. Today, we celebrate National Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) Awareness Day. Did you know that about 5 out of 100 adults within the United States has PTSD? PTSD can occur after experiencing a traumatic event and many people will experience at least one traumatic event in their lifetime. Sometimes there doesn’t need to be a set plan. Sometimes the best times and experiences come from spontaneity or unexpectedly. 🌟 Today, we ask you to apply this concept through writing and free-write for 10 minutes. Maybe you’ve done this in primary school or in your own personal journal or diary. ✏️ With free writing, there is no designated structure. You don’t need to worry about whether a thought is right or wrong. You don’t need to worry about focusing on one set prompt. You write as you go.
