Applying to both the MBA and MSx Programs
If you want to use one application to apply for both the MBA and MSx programs, you must apply during the following deadlines:

Selecting an Application Round
You may apply once per application year in any one of the three application rounds.
We encourage you to apply when you feel your application is the best it can be. The admissions process is competitive so it is important to submit your application when your resume, testing, essays, and recommendations are complete and reflect your best efforts.
Do not rush your application, but there are some advantages to applying in an earlier round, including:
- Ample time to complete any recommended quantitative preparation prior to arrival on campus.
- Additional time to prepare for a move for you and, potentially, your family members.
If you want to use one application to apply for both the MBA and MSx programs, you must apply in Round 1 or Round 2. You may apply in Round 3 to both programs, but you would need to complete two separate applications. If you apply to both programs, your application will be reviewed independently by each program.
If you and your partner are both applying in the same year, we strongly encourage you to apply in the same round so that you will know if your partner has been admitted by the time you have to accept or decline your offer of admission.
Application Fee
The Stanford MSx Program application fee is $275 and is nonrefundable.
Application Fee Payment Method
The MSx Admissions Office will evaluate your application and release your decision only after you have paid the application fee (as applicable). We must receive your fee by 4:00 p.m. Pacific Time on the deadline date for the round in which you are applying.
You can pay the application fee by debit card (with a Visa or Mastercard logo) or by credit card while in the online application. We accept American Express, Discover, Mastercard, and Visa.
Decision Notification
We will post your decision to your account on the notification date above for the round in which you applied. We will also send an email to the address used to create your application profile to notify you when your decision is available.
We do not accommodate requests for an early decision or for decision information to be provided via phone or in person.
Deferral Policy
If you are offered admission, you will be expected to enroll in the MSx program in the year for which you are admitted. Once admitted, we will not allow you to defer admission to a later year. Instead, we ask you to reapply. Only under rare and extraordinary circumstances (e.g., compulsory military service) will we consider exceptions to this policy.
