‘Bypolls being held due to HP CM’s dictatorial mindset’
Shimla: Himachal leader of opposition Jai Ram Thakur on Tuesday took a jibe at chief minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, and said that instead of questioning the BJP, the chief minister should answer why these by-elections are being held in the first place.
“The chief minister must also answer on why did he create such a situation that his own party MLAs were forced to rebel,” Jai Ram said.

Jai Ram Thakur said this while addressing a public meeting in support of BJP 's Dehra candidate Hoshyar Singh.
“Sukhu must answer why independent MLAs were forced to support the govt every time, and why the public welfare works of independent MLAs were put on hold. The by-elections being held in the state today are the result of the dictatorship of the chief minister, due to which three independent MLAs resigned,” the former chief minister said.
He added that everyone supported the Congress govt for one-and-a-half year, but when Congress gave the Rajya Sabha ticket to an outsider, all three independent MLAs supported BJP candidate Harsh Mahajan.
“Since then they have been a victim of the chief minister's wrath. The independent MLAs are being harassed with false cases,” he said.
