Our pipe business segment participated in the recent Association Fabricants Tubes Plastique (AFTP) seminar in Algeria, where the possibility of using Polyethylene of Raised Temperature Resistance (PERT II) was discussed. The Algerian authorities are currently considering new regulations for pipe producers and contractors installing pipes to ensure that all new installations are up to standards. We expressed confidence in our ability to meet all set standards, ensuring leakage-prevention in the water pipe network around the country.

Our Foam & Lightweight segment highlighted our innovative foam solutions for floors during a presentation to industry customers and partners at the recent #AMI Polymers in Flooring event in Hamburg, Germany. Our mono-material solution for mobility flooring, solutions based on renewable sources or recycled materials, and sustainable floor underlayment were also highlighted at the event. #SABIC #foam #lightweight #sandwichpanels #sustainability

We actively engaged with key industry players and highlighted our commitment to China market during the two-day China Plastics Processing Industry Association (CPPIA) Pipe Conference, which is one of the major events to gather pipe value chain in China. The conference attracted 430 attendees.

SABIC and Compoform, part of Giant Leap Composites, joined forces to develop a new generation of PP foam-based sandwich panels for the Transportation, Construction, Protective Packaging and other industries. These panels are now fully commercialized. The PP foam-based sandwich panel delivers excellent strength and outperforming impact with good bonding properties compared to incumbent PS or PET panel solutions. In addition, this mono-material solution is easy to recycle. SABIC Pipe Segment delivered a Technical seminar to Pipe customers combined with in SaudiPlast Exhibition. The team engaged with Value chain stakeholders and Customers were thrilled about SABIC’s Innovative pipe and utility solutions. The seminar followed by Q&A session to explore more our pipe solutions.

We are proud to announce that SABIC’s Pipe segment has been honored with the esteemed Edison Awards™, making the fourth consecutive year that SABIC has received at least five Edison awards. SABIC's BiAx pipe project was awarded the Bronze award. Our high-performance biaxially oriented pipes have shown remarkable improvements in various properties, such as a two-fold increase in chlorine dioxide resistance and superior resistance to slow-crack growth. They offer higher resistance against internal pressure, allowing for a reduction in material use by up to 30 percent, and a smooth inner wall surface that requires less energy for pumping.

SABIC Vestolen A RELY 5933RD has successfully passed chlorine-dioxide tests required by a leading French water company, offering a new solution for long-lasting pipe systems that help prevent water leakage and minimize pipe-replacement maintenance. It offers enhanced resistance to slow-crack growth, low-sag properties and resistance against chlorinated disinfectants. We participated in the recent Plastic Pipes 2024 Conference hosted in Mumbai by the Society of Plastics Engineers India, and made a presentation on “In-line process development for the production of BiAX PE & PP pipes,” highlighting our innovative processes that contribute to enhancing pipe performance. Held under the theme, “Innovating Sustainability, Engineering Excellence,” the conference discussed sustainable materials, advanced design solutions, digitalization in pipe production, regulatory updates, and case studies across various application areas such as water distribution and industrial piping.
