Healthy curiosity. Medical device manufacturers continue to show strong interest in SABIC’s materials, as evidenced by their activity at NPE2024 this past May. Specifically, they wanted to learn more about chemically resistant solutions. A standing-room-only crowd turned out to hear Dr. Yuanqing (Emily) He’s talk on the exceptional chemical resistance of SABIC’s LNP™ ELCRES™ CRX PC copolymer resins. These specialty materials help prevent environmental stress cracking from exposure to harsh chemicals and disinfectants. The #SABIC exhibit also attracted plenty of attention. NPE visitors examined sterilization trays, surgical instruments, and a connected #medicaldevice housing and lens made with ULTEM™ resins and LNP™ compounds and copolymers. Let’s just say we had a healthy dose of productive customer interactions throughout the show. #plastics #ChemistryThatMatters #SABICSpecialties #healthcare

They couldn’t resist talking about chemical resistance! One customer challenge we heard over and over again at NPE in May and MD&M West in February was about finding #medicaldevice materials with improved chemical resistance. What are SABIC’s solutions? ☑ LNP™ ELCRES™ CRX copolymer resins ☑ ULTEM™ HU resins These high-performing resins can provide robust resistance to harsh #healthcare disinfectants to help extend device life. If you missed us at either show, please reach out to the Healthcare team via the link in the comments. #plastics #SABIC #ChemistryThatMatters #SABICSpecialties #sustainable

Facing down friction – without PTFE. That’s SABIC’s LNP™ LUBRILOY™ compounds’ superpower. These internally lubricated compounds, based on a growing array of popular resins, use a patented, advanced alloy technology to deliver excellent wear and #friction performance for #medicaldevices like #drugdelivery pens. They provide a welcome alternative to materials lubricated with PTFE, a type of PFAS. #plastics #SABIC #ChemistryThatMatters #sustainable #SABICSpecialties #healthcare

⭐ Additive manufacturing in action at RAPID + TCT. At RAPID + TCT 2024, you can watch @JuggerBot 3D print in real time at their booth (2827) using SABIC’s LNP™ THERMOCOMP™ AM compounds. Using its pellet-fed Tradesman Series™ P3-44 printer, JuggerBot will print two #SABIC materials: 👉🏼 LNP THERMOCOMP AM AF004XXAR1 compound is a glass fiber-reinforced ABS resin with good colorability, good processability and excellent machinability. 👉🏼 LNP THERMOCOMP AM DC0041XA51 compound is a flame-retardant, carbon fiber-reinforced product based on PC. This rail-grade compound complies with EN45545 R1 HL3 and R7 HL2. Walt Thompson and David Voorde from SABIC will be on hand to support JuggerBot 3D and answer questions related to our materials. Make plans to stop by the booth. Better yet, contact Walt or David in advance to set up a meeting at the show.
