The USS Galatea[4] (NCC-80112[1]) was a 24th century Federation starship, a Luna-class science vessel in Starfleet service from the 2370s decade. (TTN novel: Sword of Damocles, Titan Fold-out)

Its commanding officer was Captain Sigrengar. (ST - Typhon Pact novel: Seize the Fire)

Neptune, the planet orbited by Galatea.

Like all Luna-class starships, the Galatea was named after a moon in the Sol star system. In this instance, Galatea. (TNG novel: Greater Than the Sum)

In the year 2367 of an alternate timeline, Starfleet commissioned a ship named USS Galatea, belonging to a new ship class designed to combat the Borg. (TNG - Myriad Universes - Shattered Light novel: The Embrace of Cold Architects)

That Galatea may or may not exist outside its native timeline.

The first batch of Luna-class starships entered service in the year 2379. The USS Triton was also named after a Neptunian moon. (TTN novel: Taking Wing Luna Class Concept Notes)

By the year 2382 of the First Splinter[6] timeline, the Galatea was under the command of Captain Sigrengar.

When Galatea's sister ship USS Titan took the Gorn refugee S'syrixx aboard, the reptilian was concerned that the Federation was dominated my mammalian species. Qur Qontallium, a Gnalish Fejimaera, told him of Sigrengar, another woman from Gnala. (ST - Typhon Pact novel: Seize the Fire)

In the year 2401, the Galatea was part of the Frontier Day parade of starships. It was among the Starfleet vessels coopted by the Borg Collective. (PIC episode: "Võx")

The Borg were defeated and the Frontier Day fleet liberated. (PIC episode: "The Last Generation")
