This document reviews techniques for secure data aggregation in wireless sensor networks. It discusses two main approaches: hop-by-hop encryption and end-to-end encryption. With hop-by-hop encryption, data is encrypted at each node and decrypted and re-encrypted by aggregator nodes. With end-to-end encryption, data is only decrypted at the base station. The document also proposes using an efficient distributed trust model to evaluate the trustworthiness of nodes to help avoid false data aggregation. Secure data aggregation aims to provide data confidentiality, integrity, authentication and availability while reducing energy consumption through efficient aggregation in wireless sensor networks.
A Wireless Sensor Network is a multiple collection of large number of sensor nodes. These sensor nodes are used to collect the information from the surroundings and pass it to the base station. Data Aggregation is an important technique to achieve power resource effectively in the sensor network. Because sensor node has limited battery power so data aggregation techniques have been proposed for WSN. The data from the multiple sensor nodes are aggregated is usually performed by averaging method. The aggregated data are stored into header aggregator node and it is highly susceptible to attacks. To address this security issue, Iterative Filtering algorithms are used to monitor sensor nodes and provide great promise by detecting vulnerable errors. For transferring aggregator data from aggregated node to base station, this paper introduces Cryptography and Random Key Generation technique. We use encryption technique for original message and simultaneously create a key for that encrypted message. That generated key and encrypted message will be sent to the receiver through the possible paths where the hackers cannot hack the original message.

IRJET- Easy to Implement Searchable Encryption Scheme for Cloud-Assisted Wire...IRJET Journal
This document proposes a lightweight searchable public key encryption (LSPE) scheme for cloud-assisted wireless sensor networks (CWSNs) to address issues with data confidentiality and energy efficiency. Existing searchable encryption schemes for CWSNs are computationally intensive and energy inefficient. The proposed LSPE scheme reduces computation costs compared to other searchable public key encryption schemes while still providing meaningful security. It constructs an LSPE based on star-like structures to achieve sub-linear search complexity. This allows keyword searches to be performed with lower energy consumption than existing schemes for CWSNs. The LSPE scheme divides the data retrieval process into setup, data collection, and data retrieval phases using algorithms like structure, encryption, and trapdoor to
In Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN), the wireless connections are prone to different type
of attacks. Therefore, security of the data that transfer over the wireless network is a measure
concern in WSN. Due to the limitation of nodes’ energy, efficient energy utilization is also an
important factor. Hence to provide security along with efficient energy utilization of sensor
nodes, Secure and Energy Efficient Hierarchical and Dynamic Elliptic Curve Cryptosystem
(HiDE) scheme is proposed. It includes a hierarchical cluster-based architecture consisting of a
several Area Clusters and a Backbone Network. To provide security Elliptic Curve Cryptography
(ECC) is used. For energy efficient data transmission, Low Energy Adaptive Clustering
Hierarchy (LEACH) is used to select the Cluster Head dynamically. Each Cluster Head collects
the data from their own cluster and transmit to the Destination through the Gateway (GW) in the
Backbone Network. However, limited by the coverage of Gateway, Source Gateway may not be
directly linked with the Destination Gateway in a single hop, so needs to hop through other
Gateways to reach the Destination. Data encryption using Elliptic Curve Cryptography provides
high security with small key size than the existing RSA. Key management includes key
computation, key exchanges, data encryption and decryption. Cluster-based cryptographic
mechanism provides efficient energy utilization of sensor nodes along with security and lower
message overhead. Thus, Hierarchical and Dynamic Elliptic Curve Cryptosystem can protect the
confidentiality of sensitive data with low computation complexity, and also keep the
performance of the network in Wireless Sensor Network.

IRJET- An Implementation of Secured Data Integrity Technique for Cloud Storag...IRJET Journal
The document proposes a secured data integrity technique for cloud storage using 3DES encryption algorithm. 3DES is a symmetric cryptosystem that encrypts data using three iterations of the DES algorithm. The proposed system uses 3DES along with a random key generator and graphical password to add extra security layers. This makes the system difficult to hack by protecting the data stored in the cloud. The document discusses related work on ensuring data integrity and possession in cloud storage. It then describes the proposed methodology which uses cryptography algorithms like 3DES to encrypt data sent over the network, making intercepted or replaced data impossible. The system is designed to be acceptably secure against current threats but may require stronger encryption with increasing computing power over time.

An efficient approach for secured communication in wireless sensor networks IJECEIAES
Wireless sensor network (WSN) have limited bandwidth, low computational functions, energy constraints. Inspite of these constraints, WSN is useful where communication happens without infrastructure support. The main concern of WSN is the security as the sensor nodes may be attacked and information may be hacked. Security of WSN should have the capability to ensure that the message received was sent by the particular sent node and not modified during transmission. WSN applications require lightweight and strong authentication mechanisms for obtaining data from unprivileged users. In wireless sensor networks, authentication is the effective method to stop unauthorized and undisrupted communication service. In order to strengthen the authenticated communication, several researchers have developed mechanisms. Some of the techniques work with identifying the attacked node or detecting injected bogus message in the network. Encryption and decryption are the popular methods of providing the security. These are based on either public-key or symmetric-key cryptosystems. Many of the existing solutions have limitations in communication and computational expertise. Also, the existing mechanisms lack in providing strength and scalability of the network. In order address these issues; a polynomial based method was introduced in recent days. Key distribution is a significant aspect in key management in WSNs. The simplest method of distribution of key is by hand which was used in the days of couriers. Now a day, most distribution of keys is done automatically. The automatic distribution of keys is essential and convenient in networks that require two parties to transmit their security keys in the same communication medium. In this work, a new type of key exchange mechanism is proposed. The proposed method for authentication among sensor nodes proves to be promising as per the simulation results. The nodes which are unknown to each other setup a private however arbitrary key for the symmetric key cryptosystem.
Analyzing and Securing Data Transmission in Wireless Sensor Networks through ...ijtsrd
Wireless Sensor Networks are gaining popularity in various fields and areas. But these nodes are vulnerable as they are open networks and easily accessible. The major challenge is to have a secure data transmission between the nodes. To establish a secure transmission, we require a security scheme like a cryptographic algorithm, but this also requires a secure key distribution between nodes. The WSN’s have constraints like limited area, power and memory which restrict all the categories of cryptographic algorithm. Depending upon the criteria’s and constraints, cryptographic algorithm like Elliptic Curve Cryptography ECC is best suitable for WSN’s environment. ECC has a smaller key size, high security and less computation time which makes the node an efficient crypto system. In order to protect the security of data, we propose a novel secure transmission strategy based on Cryptography. In this design, we acquire sensitive information securely so as to make use of the advantage of encryption. Our approach deal with the weakness of limitation in sensor node resources and the security threats, it is suitable for stream data in sensor nodes. The simulation experiments also demonstrate that this approach is effective in transmitting sensitive data covertly with the characteristics of lower energy consumptions and invisibility. This paper describes the implementation of ECC cryptosystem for WSN for secure key and data transmission between the nodes. Enhanced security for non English users of Wireless Sensor NetworksEswar Publications
Wireless Sensor Networks is an infrastructure less, self-configured, reprogrammable, energy-aware network used
in various applications. Many networks works on security of data including mainly ASCII values but not the non English end users. BDNA cryptography describes how to encrypt non English patterns but which leads to propagation of more bits transmitted means indirectly consumes more energy in WSN. In this we propose new steps to reduce the transmission of more bytes in the network. This gives high propagation speed in the network with minimum hash overhead.
A lightweight secure scheme for detecting provenance forgery and packet drop ...Pvrtechnologies Nellore
This document proposes a lightweight scheme for securely transmitting provenance (data history) in wireless sensor networks to detect packet forgery and loss attacks. It introduces an in-packet Bloom filter technique to encode provenance within each data packet in an efficient way. As sensor nodes forward packets, they embed their node IDs into the Bloom filter to record the forwarding path. The base station can then extract and verify the provenance from the Bloom filter to identify compromised or malicious nodes that drop packets. The scheme aims to securely transmit provenance using only low-cost operations like hash functions and message authentication codes, while previous solutions used intensive cryptography. It is evaluated analytically and experimentally to prove its effectiveness and efficiency.

This document summarizes a research paper that proposes a scheme to securely dispatch mobile sensors in a hybrid wireless sensor network. The scheme uses the Sensor Network Encryption Protocol (SNEP) to provide data security between the base station and mobile sensors. SNEP provides data confidentiality, authentication, integrity and freshness. When static sensors detect an event, the data is sent securely to the base station using SNEP. The base station then sends the data to the mobile sensor using SNEP, and the mobile sensor is dispatched to the event location for further analysis. The scheme aims to address the challenge of securely communicating sensitive data between network components in wireless sensor networks.
Privacy Preserving Data Mining Technique to Recover Association Rules Using H...IJSRED
This document presents a new technique for privacy-preserving association rule mining using homomorphic encryption. The technique allows different data parties to contribute their data to a trusted server while keeping the data private. The server applies the Apriori algorithm to the encrypted data to mine association rules, then distributes the encrypted rules back to the parties. The parties can decrypt the rules related to their contributed data while keeping other data private. The proposed method is implemented using a client-server model with Java. Experiments show it effectively mines rules from encrypted data with reasonable time and memory costs due to the homomorphic encryption. Future work could explore handling larger data sets and more efficient rule mining techniques.

Cluster Based Misbehaviour Detection and Authentication Using Threshold Crypt...CSCJournals
In mobile ad hoc networks, the misbehaving nodes can cause dysfunction in the network resulting in damage of other nodes. In order to establish secure communication with the group members of a network, use of a shared group key for confidentiality and authentication is required. Distributing the shares of secret group key to the group members securely is another challenging task in MANET. In this paper, we propose a Cluster Based Misbehavior Detection and Authentication scheme using threshold cryptography in MANET. For secure data transmission, when any node requests a certificate from a cluster head (CH), it utilizes a threshold cryptographic technique to issue the certificate to the requested node for authentication. The certificate of a node is renewed or rejected by CH, based on its trust counter value. An acknowledgement scheme is also included to detect and isolate the misbehaving nodes. By simulation results, we show that the proposed approach reduces the overhead.

IRJET- Enhanced ID based Data Aggregation and Detection Against Sybil Attack ...IRJET Journal
This document summarizes a research paper that proposes a Challenge-Response Authentication Protocol (CRAP) to detect Sybil attacks in wireless sensor networks. The CRAP generates unique keys for each transmission to provide encrypted communication. It is used to prevent Sybil attacks where an attacker steals node identities during data transmission. The performance of the detection scheme is evaluated using detection ratio. The proposed CRAP involves three phases: 1) nodes are selected and grouped, 2) two nearby nodes transmit packets to detect collisions indicating Sybil nodes, 3) if no hop is detected between Sybil identities, the nodes are confirmed to be under attack. The scheme is analyzed using performance metrics like packet delivery ratio, energy efficiency, and attack detection ratio.

IRJET- Multimedia Content Security with Random Key Generation Approach in...IRJET Journal
This document proposes a double stage encryption algorithm to securely store multimedia content like images, audio, and video in the cloud. In the first stage, multimedia content is encrypted into ciphertext using AES symmetric encryption. The ciphertext is then encrypted again in the cloud using a randomly generated symmetric key for added security. This makes it difficult for attackers to extract the encryption key and recover the original multimedia content even if they obtain the ciphertext. The algorithm aims to provide security against side channel attacks in cloud computing through its use of random key generation and double encryption. It is described as having low complexity and wide applicability for safeguarding multimedia content in the cloud.
A Secure Data Transmission Scheme using Asymmetric Semi-Homomorphic Encryptio...IJAAS Team
The compressive detecting based information accumulation accomplishes with high exactness in information recuperation from less inspection which is available in sensor nodes. In this manner, the existing methods available in the literature diminish the information gathering cost and delays the existence cycle of WSNs. In this paper, a strong achievable security model for sensor network applications was initially proposed. At that point, a secure data collection conspire was displayed based on compressive detecting, which improves the information protection by the asymmetric semi-homomorphic encryption scheme, and decreases the calculation cost by inadequate compressive grid. In this case, particularly the asymmetric mechanism decreases the trouble of mystery key circulation and administration. The proposed homomorphic encryption permits the in-arrange accumulation in cipher domain, and in this manner improves the security and accomplishes the adjustment in system stack. Further, this paper focuses on estimating various network performances such as the calculation cost and correspondence cost, which remunerates the expanding cost caused by the homomorphic encryption. A real time validation on the proposed encryption scheme using AVISPA was additionally performed and the results are satisfactory.
Internet of things (IoT) has become one of the eminent phenomena in human
life along with its collaboration with wireless sensor networks (WSNs), due
to enormous growth in the domain; there has been a demand to address the
various issues regarding it such as energy consumption, redundancy, and
overhead. Data aggregation (DA) is considered as the basic mechanism to
minimize the energy efficiency and communication overhead; however,
security plays an important role where node security is essential due to the
volatile nature of WSN. Thus, we design and develop proximate node aware
secure data aggregation (PNA-SDA). In the PNA-SDA mechanism, additional
data is used to secure the original data, and further information is shared with
the proximate node; moreover, further security is achieved by updating the
state each time. Moreover, the node that does not have updated information is
considered as the compromised node and discarded. PNA-SDA is evaluated
considering the different parameters like average energy consumption, and
average deceased node; also, comparative analysis is carried out with the
existing model in terms of throughput and correct packet identification.

A Paired Key Mechanism for Wirelesslink Security for WSNSIRJET Journal
This document presents a paired key mechanism for providing security in wireless sensor networks. It proposes using a lightweight randomized key table with keys arranged in paired columns for authentication between nodes. The key pairs remain fixed during a session. To establish a secure connection, nodes first exchange their key tables. Then one node acts as the sender/server and encrypts a key from its table to send to the receiver/client node. The client decrypts this and returns the paired key. If this matches what the sender expected, data transmission begins. The results show this method consumes less energy than existing approaches as keys are used only once from the randomized table. It provides security against passive attacks like eavesdropping and active attacks by unauthorized nodes.
This document discusses advances in information technology that have enabled the rapid scaling of data center systems. It presents a multiple path routing configuration protocol and analyzes its performance in terms of flexibility, backup path lengths, and load distribution after a failure. It also shows how estimating traffic demands in the network can be used to improve the distribution of recovered traffic and thus reduce the risk of congestion when multiple path routing is used. The proposed system aims to design a new strategy for privacy preservation in software defined networks that has lower computational time and is more secure without disclosing any private data.

A smart grid represents a straightforward improvement of a power grid, which effectively hands over electricity from suppliers to clients. It generally uses a two-way digital communication with an eye on managing the devices at client households. They are also competent to conserve energy, scale down overhead costs and to enhance consistency and lucidity. It is home to smart meters, which pave the way for communication with the main central system. As against home energy monitors, smart meters are capable of collecting data for distant reporting. The distribution or receipt of the data is very safely carried out to safeguard the confidentiality of the client power utilization and also to ensure continuous power distribution. Therefore, the cryptography technique is effectively used for increasing the safety and for furnishing the consistent power supply for the uninterrupted power distribution.

This document proposes a new technique for securing medical IoT devices that collects sensitive patient data. It involves using a Kerberos-like authentication server as a central hub that IoT devices connect to over an intranet, rather than connecting directly to an online database. The IoT devices will encrypt sensor data using Elliptic Curve Digital Signature Algorithm (ECDSA) before sending it to the authentication server. The server will decrypt and validate the digital signature before uploading valid data to the online database. This helps prevent man-in-the-middle and replay attacks while only allowing authorized users access to the medical data and devices based on access privileges.

Natural Is The Best: Model-Agnostic Code Simplification for Pre-trained Large...YanKing2
Pre-trained Large Language Models (LLM) have achieved remarkable successes in several domains. However, code-oriented LLMs are often heavy in computational complexity, and quadratically with the length of the input code sequence. Toward simplifying the input program of an LLM, the state-of-the-art approach has the strategies to filter the input code tokens based on the attention scores given by the LLM. The decision to simplify the input program should not rely on the attention patterns of an LLM, as these patterns are influenced by both the model architecture and the pre-training dataset. Since the model and dataset are part of the solution domain, not the problem domain where the input program belongs, the outcome may differ when the model is trained on a different dataset. We propose SlimCode, a model-agnostic code simplification solution for LLMs that depends on the nature of input code tokens. As an empirical study on the LLMs including CodeBERT, CodeT5, and GPT-4 for two main tasks: code search and summarization. We reported that 1) the reduction ratio of code has a linear-like relation with the saving ratio on training time, 2) the impact of categorized tokens on code simplification can vary significantly, 3) the impact of categorized tokens on code simplification is task-specific but model-agnostic, and 4) the above findings hold for the paradigm–prompt engineering and interactive in-context learning and this study can save reduce the cost of invoking GPT-4 by 24%per API query. Importantly, SlimCode simplifies the input code with its greedy strategy and can obtain at most 133 times faster than the state-of-the-art technique with a significant improvement. This paper calls for a new direction on code-based, model-agnostic code simplification solutions to further empower LLMs.
