Detection of Rogue Access Point in WLAN using Hopfield Neural Network IJECEIAES
The serious issue in the field of wireless communication is the security and how an organization implements the steps against security breach. The major attack on any organization is Man in the Middle attack which is difficult to manage. This attack leads to number of unauthorized access points, called rogue access points which are not detected easily. In this paper, we proposed a Hopfield Neural Network approach for an automatic detection of these rogue access points in wireless networking. Here, we store the passwords of the authentic devices in the weight matrix format and match the patterns at the time of login. Simulation experiment shows that this method is more secure than the traditional one in WLAN.
This document discusses network intrusion detection systems (NIDS) and their ability to handle high-speed traffic. It introduces NIDS and their role in monitoring network traffic. The document presents an experiment that tests the open-source NIDS Snort under high-volume traffic. The experiment shows that Snort drops more packets as traffic speed and volume increases, demonstrating a weakness of NIDS in high-speed environments. It suggests using a parallel NIDS technique to help NIDS better handle high-speed network traffic and reduce packet dropping.

Network infrastructures have played important part in most daily communications for business industries,
social networking, government sectors and etc. Despites the advantages that came from such
functionalities, security threats have become a daily struggle. One major security threat is hacking.
Consequently, security experts and researchers have suggested possible security solutions such as
Firewalls, Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), Intrusion Detection and Prevention Systems (IDP) and
Honeynet. Yet, none of these solutions have proven their ability to completely address hacking. The reason
behind that, there is a few researches that examine the behavior of hackers. This paper formally and
practically examines in details the behavior of hackers and their targeted environments. Moreover, this
paper formally examines the properties of one essential pre-hacking step called scanning and highlights its
importance in developing hacking strategies. Also, it illustrates the properties of hacking that is common in
most hacking strategies to assist security experts and researchers towards minimizing the risk of hack.

DEPLOYMENT OF INTRUSION PREVENTION SYSTEM ON MULTI-CORE PROCESSOR BASED SECUR...IJCNCJournal
After tightening up network perimeter for dealing with external threats, organizations have woken up to the
threats from inside Local Area Networks (LAN) over the past several years. It is thus important to design
and implement LAN security strategies in order to secure assets on LAN by filtering traffic and thereby
protecting them from malicious access and insider attacks. Banking Financial Services and Insurance
(BFSI) industry is one such segment that faces increased risks and security challenges. The typical
architecture of this segment includes several thousands of users connecting from various branches over
Wide Area Network (WAN) links crossing national and international boundaries with varying network
speed to access data center resources. The objective of this work is to deploy LAN security solution to
protect the data center located at headquarters from the end user machines. A LAN security solution should
ideally provide Network Access Control (NAC) along with cleaning (securing) the traffic going through it.
Traffic cleaning itself includes various features like firewall, intrusion detection/prevention, traffic anomaly
detection, validation of asset ownership etc. LANenforcer (LE) is a device deployed in front of the data
center such that the traffic from end-user machines necessarily passes through it so that it can enforce
security. The goal of this system is to enhance the security features of a LANenforcer security system with
Intrusion Prevention System (IPS) to enable it to detect and prevent malicious network activities. IPS is
plugged into the packet path based on the configuration in such a way that the entire traffic passes through
the IPS on LE.
Intrusion Detection Systems (IDSs) have become widely recognized as powerful tools for identifying, deterring and deflecting malicious attacks over the network. Intrusion detection systems (IDSs) are designed and installed to aid in deterring or mitigating the damage that can be caused by hacking, or breaking into sensitive IT systems. . The attacks can come from outsider attackers on the Internet, authorized insiders who misuse the privileges that have been given them and unauthorized insiders who attempt to gain unauthorized privileges. IDSs cannot be used in isolation, but must be part of a larger framework of IT security measures. Essential to almost every intrusion detection system is the ability to search through packets and identify content that matches known attacks. Space and time efficient string matching algorithms are therefore important for identifying these packets at line rate. In this paper we examine string matching algorithm and their use for Intrusion Detection. Keywords: System Design, Network Algorithm

Advance security in cloud computing for military weaponsIRJET Journal
This document proposes a system to securely transmit military weapon launch codes through cloud storage using multiple security techniques. The system uses steganography to hide launch codes in image captchas. Visual cryptography is then used to split the captcha images into shares distributed to authorized users. Each share undergoes image encryption and watermarking before being sent via email. To obtain the launch code, users decrypt their shares, verify the watermarks through de-watermarking, and use visual cryptography to reconstruct the original captcha and extract the hidden launch code text. The proposed multi-layered approach aims to securely transmit sensitive military information through cloud storage.
Analysis of Honeypot Networks and Intrusion Prevention System IPS on Wireless...ijtsrd
Honeypot is a way to trap or ward off unauthorized use attempts in an information system. Honeypots are a distraction for hackers, so that it appears as if they have succeeded in breaking into and retrieving data from a network, even though in fact the data is not important and the location is already isolated. One type of honeypot is honeyd. Honeyd is a honeypot with a low interaction type which has less risk than the high interaction type because the interaction with the honeypot does not directly involve the actual system. Security issues are one of the important aspects of a network, especially network security on servers. This problem underlies the need to build a system that can detect threats from parties who do not have access rights hackers , namely by building a honeypot security system. Honeypot is. The aim of implementing Honeypot and IPS is that it can be used as a tool for administrators to view activity reports produced by Honeyd and administrators can also view reports stored in logs to help determine network security policies. A new algorithm to enhance security against cyber threats for internet of thi...IJECEIAES
One major problem is detecting the unsuitability of traffic caused by a distributed denial of services (DDoS) attack produced by third party nodes, such as smart phones and other handheld Wi-Fi devices. During the transmission between the devices, there are rising in the number of cyber attacks on systems by using negligible packets, which lead to suspension of the services between source and destination, and can find the vulnerabilities on the network. These vulnerable issues have led to a reduction in the reliability of networks and a reduction in consumer confidence. In this paper, we will introduce a new algorithm called rout attack with detection algorithm (RAWD) to reduce the affect of any attack by checking the packet injection, and to avoid number of cyber attacks being received by the destination and transferred through a determined path or alternative path based on the problem. The proposed algorithm will forward the real time traffic to the required destination from a new alternative backup path which is computed by it before the attacked occurred. The results have showed an improvement when the attack occurred and the alternative path has used to make sure the continuity of receiving the data to the main destination without any affection.

Natural Is The Best: Model-Agnostic Code Simplification for Pre-trained Large...YanKing2
Pre-trained Large Language Models (LLM) have achieved remarkable successes in several domains. However, code-oriented LLMs are often heavy in computational complexity, and quadratically with the length of the input code sequence. Toward simplifying the input program of an LLM, the state-of-the-art approach has the strategies to filter the input code tokens based on the attention scores given by the LLM. The decision to simplify the input program should not rely on the attention patterns of an LLM, as these patterns are influenced by both the model architecture and the pre-training dataset. Since the model and dataset are part of the solution domain, not the problem domain where the input program belongs, the outcome may differ when the model is trained on a different dataset. We propose SlimCode, a model-agnostic code simplification solution for LLMs that depends on the nature of input code tokens. As an empirical study on the LLMs including CodeBERT, CodeT5, and GPT-4 for two main tasks: code search and summarization. We reported that 1) the reduction ratio of code has a linear-like relation with the saving ratio on training time, 2) the impact of categorized tokens on code simplification can vary significantly, 3) the impact of categorized tokens on code simplification is task-specific but model-agnostic, and 4) the above findings hold for the paradigm–prompt engineering and interactive in-context learning and this study can save reduce the cost of invoking GPT-4 by 24%per API query. Importantly, SlimCode simplifies the input code with its greedy strategy and can obtain at most 133 times faster than the state-of-the-art technique with a significant improvement. This paper calls for a new direction on code-based, model-agnostic code simplification solutions to further empower LLMs.
