As cloud usage takes off, data production grows exponentially, content pushes closer to the edge, and end users demand data and applications at all hours from all locations, the ability to seamless interconnect with cloud services becomes more pivotal to Enterprise IT transformation. In this session we will share what interconnection oriented architecture is and the reasons why certain enterprises have chosen this architecture to future proof their IT investments. Brian Lillie, CIO of Equinix, discusses Equinix's adoption of Splunk Cloud for its security information and event management (SIEM) needs. Equinix wanted a cloud SIEM solution for its flexibility, subscription pricing model, and ease of deployment compared to an on-premises SIEM. Splunk Cloud met Equinix's needs out of the box by handling different data types and providing security analytics. Equinix now uses Splunk Cloud for malware protection, user account protection, data leakage protection, and has seen promising results like reducing raw events to only 20 actionable alerts.
Equinix is pitching their partnership with Microsoft to drive hybrid cloud solutions and Azure consumption. As the largest global provider of internet exchange points and carrier-neutral data centers, Equinix argues that locating workloads in their data centers and connecting to Azure via ExpressRoute provides customers the highest performance and most secure connections to help accelerate cloud migrations and increase Azure spending. The presentation provides case studies of customers who worked with Equinix and saw benefits like reduced latency, faster migration timelines, and increased Azure consumption revenue. Equinix proposes joint sales engagement, enablement workshops, and account planning to strengthen the Microsoft-Equinix partnership and cloud selling motions.
