GridMatrix is thrilled to announce its latest deployment in partnership with The Port Authority of New York & New Jersey! We are deploying our cloud-based software platform to help optimize operations at Port of New York & New Jersey’s Port Newark Container Terminal (PNCT) and at the Elizabeth-Port Authority Marine Terminal - the busiest port on America's east coast. The Port of New York and New Jersey's operations professionals are using GridMatrix's software to generate real-time alerts related to security, traffic flow, vessel activity, emissions, and several other key performance indicators on the facility's efficiency and safety. Additionally, GridMatrix's software will be used to generate data over time on these same metrics. GridMatrix's software platform uses artificial intelligence and feeds from existing cameras already deployed at Port Newark Container Terminal (PNCT) to generate these insights. I can’t believe I did not post of my amazing experience moderating a panel discussion on AI in HR at the #NJTransAction Conference on May 1. I was joined by my colleague Christopher Wolff, SHRM-SCP and our AI technology partner Angela Edwards of #Pyxai. Together, we gave a presentation on how AI can enhance the hiring and recruiting experience.

👀👀👀 Transit Tech Lab 2022 Sustainability Challenge pilot winner, The Mobility House, explains how their technology can increase the value of electric vehicle batteries: “The Mobility House buys power when solar and wind power is abundant and cheap, storing it in electric vehicles that are part of its system and plugged in around Europe. When demand and prices climb, the company resells the electricity. It’s a classic play: Buy low, sell high.” “We want to unlock the full value of electric vehicle batteries,” said Gregor Hintler, chief executive of the Mobility House for North America. If all the electric cars in New York City were used as storage, said Dr. Preindl, the Columbia professor, “those vehicles would be the most valuable power plant in New York by far.”
The foundational vision of this company is to harmonize electric vehicle batteries and renewable energy to achieve zero cost charging from zero emission energy. 🔗 On The New York Times: https://lnkd.in/gsFZChh8 In order to get there, we mastered fleet charging, and now we operate 1700 smart charging fleet depots worldwide, including more than 100 in North America. And we mastered energy trading, now operating over 100MW of stationary battery storage across Europe. Now, we are bringing the zero zero vision to consumer-owned vehicles. Today, our partnership with Renault Group Mobilize to bring the first commercial V2G offering to France, Germany, and U.K. is featured in the New York Times. The story also features our award-winning project with Con Edison and NYC School Bus Umbrella Services, Inc to electrify school buses in the Bronx. The goal, as Gregor Hintler says, is to “unlock the full value of electric vehicle batteries,” for the vehicle owners, for the electrical grid, and for us and our partners.

“I think there is a misunderstanding of how much excess traffic congestion costs us.” - Kathy Wylde, Partnership for New York City President and CEO The Governor’s decision to indefinitely pause the congestion pricing program is disappointing. But this temporary pause is now an opportunity to make a strong campaign for its benefits and provide a better understanding of just how much excess traffic congestion costs New Yorkers. This morning Kathy spoke with NY1 News on what this pause means for New York. Watch here: https://lnkd.in/e_p4F4td #NewYorkCity #CongestionPricing #PublicTransit
