Last week’s CNN Presidential Debate drew a huge, combined audience of 51.27 million viewers on US TV channels making it the highest rated program in CNN history. CNN ranked #1 across broadcast and cable TV networks with 9.53 million viewers. There were more than 30 million live starts of the debate on CNN’s digital platforms and on YouTube as the world’s eyes were fixated on CNN for this landmark event. CNN Arabic and UN Women in the Arab States have renewed their impactful partnership last week, which began in 2022, with a Memorandum of Understanding. This collaboration aims to accelerate gender balance, financial inclusion, and female employment across the Arab States. Susanne Mikhail Eldhagen, Regional Director of UN Women in the Arab States, emphasized, "Together, we commit to supporting a media landscape promoting women’s rights, with a focus on women’s employment." Over the past two years, the partnership has made significant strides, notably through the '16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence' campaign. Caroline Faraj, VP of Arabic Services at CNN remarked, “The initial two years of this partnership have seen consistently high levels of engagement in the stories and projects we have undertaken together, which underlines the power, relevance and importance of our collaborative efforts.” Looking ahead, CNN Arabic and UN Women will continue to focus on high-quality, data-driven content and strategic events that highlight women's economic empowerment and their integral involvement in peace and security.
