CNN International joined the Mongolian Economic Forum 2024, Mongolia’s leading national conference dedicated to addressing economic development, critical geo-political topics, and solutions to help accelerate the nation’s development.
CNN Anchor, Correspondent, and Business Editor-at-large, Richard Quest, moderated two of the forums’ most significant panels which set the agenda for the day’s discussions. The first plenary session, which focused on regional development, featured high-profile leaders including the Prime Minister of Mongolia, opposition leaders such as Luvsannyam Gantumur and Dorjhand Togmid, Albert Park, the Chief Economist at the Asian Development Bank (ADB), and Professor Euvin Naidoo from the Thunderbird School of Global Management. Quest's second plenary session, “Green Energy & Financing, Energy Transition” featured Bolormaa Enkhbat, Member of Parliament, Randeep Singh Grewal, Chairman of Greka Green Group, Dr. Lili LU, Senior Business Development Director of Green Hydrogen at Envision Energy, Marc Meleard, Executive Director at Badrakh Energy, and Rufat Alimardanov, Mongolia’s Resident Representative at IFC - International Finance Corporation.
James Hunt, CNNIC Senior Vice President of Global Client Solutions, also joined the #MEForum on a panel discussing Mongolia’s tourism. In addition, Erin Williams, Sales Director at CNNIC, had a fireside chat at the MEF Youth session where she discussed the role of traditional news brands in the age of social media and disinformation.
