We partnered with POLITICO, International Association of Providers of AIDS Care, and Cyrus Engerer (He/Him), the MEP for Malta, to explore how the government, civil society, and healthcare industry can collaborate to end the HIV epidemic in Europe and beyond. We’re pleased to share that ViiV Healthcare will fund two new fellowships at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, in honor of Dr. Adaora Adimora, a distinguished physician-scientist who made exceptional contributions to the fields of HIV epidemiology and clinical care. During the recent announcement of the fellowships, Vani Vannappagari, ViiV’s Global Head of Epidemiology and Real-World Evidence, said she first met Dr. Adimora while studying for her PhD. Vani described her as a teacher, friend, mentor, and colleague, and then, pausing to remember with a smile, “someone who asked things of us.” Dr. Adimora was a force for good, and we are deeply grateful for her medical contributions and the positive impact she had on the HIV community and our ViiV family. We are honored to help support future physicians, scientists, and epidemiology in her memory. https://lnkd.in/eNGWpSrc
