Ranchi: The three-member committee formed to inquire into the allegations of question leak in the PhD and MPhil entrance examination at Ranchi Institute of Neuropsychiatry and Applied Sciences (RINPAS) had found the claim to be false.
The Ranchi University (RU) had held the entrance examination on June 23. A candidate who did not qualify for the interview had approached the RU vice-chancellor (VC) Dr Ajit Kumar Sinha and claimed that the question papers of the examination were leaked.
The complaint was filed almost a week after the exam.
The VC then formed a three-member committee comprising RINPAS director Dr Jayanti Simlai, RU’s dean student’s welfare Dr Sudesh Kumar Sahu and principal of Marwari College, Dr Manoj Kumar, to probe the allegation. A member said that report would be submitted to the VC on Friday morning.
The VC on Thursday said that according to information given to him by the committee, the girl candidate had made false and fabricated charges, adding she wanted cancellation of examination as she did not qualify.
“In 2024 examination, only two questions of the tests held in 2021, 2022 and 2023 were repeated. The committee members searched various websites and also Whatsapp groups of leading coaching institutes of the country but did not find any proof of question leak,” he said. Around 600 candidates from different parts of the country had appeared in the examinations.
