Ahead of SC hearing on NEET, successful aspirants prep for retest
Ranchi: As the Supreme Court would hear petitions on alleged paper leak and other irregularities in National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) on July 8, a large number of applicants, including successful candidates, are revising their subjects and appearing in mock tests apprehending a re-examination.
Students said they have restarted preparing the syllabus as they would get less time to cover the subjects, if re-examinations are ordered.

Haleema Mahjabin has secured 1,532 rank in NEET and is sure to get a seat in a government college. She is, however, spending her entire day in a library. “The matter is in the court. I am preparing for the worst situation,” she said.
Areeba Taslim, who scored 9,951 rank, said, “I am sure of securing a seat in a govt college with my marks. It is difficult to prepare the mindset again to restart studying subjects but I am doing it.”
Aman Raj, who scored 45,667 rank is, however, in favour of a re-examination. He is revising the topics where he had committed mistakes in the test. “The ranking of students has fallen due to unprecedented high scores in the examination. The marks, which would have secured a seat in All India Institute of Medical Sciences, is only enough for admission into a state college at present.”
Kumar Rishab, who secured 17,951 rank, said, “It would be better if the candidates who cheated are traced out. At present, I am trying to complete the topics that takes two years to prepare, in a month or two.”

Pankaj Singh of a coaching institution said, “Students of not only Ranchi but other parts of the state are preparing for retest. Many of my students who are residents of other cities are seeking guidance through whatsapp group. They would come to Ranchi if a retest is announced.”
