DIBRUGARH: Jailed radical preacher Amritpal Singh, who was elected as the MP from Punjab’s Khadoor Sahib Lok Sabha seat, will be flown to Delhi from Dibrugarh Central Jail here on Friday morning to take the oath of office. Highly placed sources said a police team from Punjab under the supervision of SSP (rural) Amritsar will accompany Amritpal to the national capital.
Speaking on the phone from Punjab on Thursday, Amritpal’s lawyer Rajdev Singh Khalsa said he will be airlifted to Delhi in a “military aircraft” for his swearing-in ceremony.

Amritpal, who has been granted parole for four days from July 5 to take oath, will be allowed to meet his family but will not be permitted to leave the “territorial jurisdiction” of New Delhi.
During his stay in the national capital, neither Singh nor his relatives or family members can make a statement in any form of media, according to the conditions laid down in his parole order issued by the district magistrate of Punjab’s Amritsar.
The parole order, which has 10 conditions, clearly states that the period of temporary release will include the time taken for the journey from the central jail in Dibrugarh to New Delhi and back.
Amritpal or any of his relatives will not be permitted to videograph any statement of Amritpal and/or circulate any such statement in any electronic form, according to the order.
He has also been refrained from engaging in any action or making any statement that is prejudicial to national security.
