How user research inspires features on the Plum app – making nutrition intuitive for our women users. An analysis of our telehealth consultations revealed that women scheduled most of our nutritionist appointments. A deeper analysis revealed that a majority of these appointments were related to weight management. It felt like a blanket term. Jahnavi Koganti, our UX researcher, spoke to some of Plum's users who'd consulted with a nutritionist to understand this better. Her findings? - 40% of these weight management consultations are for managing PCOS. - ~15% were related to dietary care during pregnancy and post-partum. - A majority of the consultations for specific health-related concerns were from the elderly group – ranging from thyroid, fatty liver and gut-related issues to arthritis, breast cancer, thalassemia, and more.
