This hands-on session explores the integration of events with the video timeline, creating positioned hotspots with links and dynamic content, and capturing user input. In addition, the session examines supporting mobile platform browsers along with future opportunities with the HTML5 video tag. QR codes can carry various types of information and be read by QR code readers or scanner apps on smartphones. They were created in 1994 and can hold data in both horizontal and vertical patterns within a black and white square-shaped grid. QR codes have finder and timing patterns to help scanners identify and read the code, as well as error correction data to account for distortions. Information like URLs, texts, contact info or WiFi networks can be encoded within a QR code to be scanned and accessed on a smartphone. QR codes have various uses in education like linking to course materials, maps, videos or surveys.
QR codes are two-dimensional barcodes that can be read by smartphones and store text, URLs, or other data. They are commonly used for promotional purposes like providing discounts, or functional purposes like redirecting users to a mobile website. Some examples of QR code uses include putting them on business cards, product packaging, event name tags, and real estate signs. Many large companies have adopted QR codes, such as Toyota, Facebook, and Google.

Decoupling compute and storage architecture has emerged as an effective solution to these challenges, but it can introduce high latency issues, especially when dealing with complex continuous queries that necessitate managing extra-large internal states.
In this talk, we focus on addressing the high latency issues associated with S3 storage in stream processing systems that employ a decoupled compute and storage architecture. We delve into the root causes of latency in this context and explore various techniques to minimize the impact of S3 latency on stream processing performance. Our proposed approach is to implement a tiered storage mechanism that leverages a blend of high-performance and low-cost storage tiers to reduce data movement between the compute and storage layers while maintaining efficient processing.
Throughout the talk, we will present experimental results that demonstrate the effectiveness of our approach in mitigating the impact of S3 latency on stream processing. By the end of the talk, attendees will have gained insights into how to optimize their stream processing systems for reduced latency and improved cost-efficiency.
