We are a digital solutions company that has great technical expertise but also have a very business-centric and creative approach to what we do. Will be happy to add value to your business.
This document summarizes the business plan and strategy of a hospitality company aiming to become the world's largest hospitality brand. The company provides high-quality, tech-enabled short-term rental accommodations that offer a better experience than traditional hotels or individual hosts. It has experienced rapid growth, with strong unit economics and a scalable operating model. The company's strategy is to continue expanding supply and building brand awareness to dominate the market through a virtuous cycle of scale and defensibility. The goal is to have over 4,000 new units per month by 2025 and expand into new verticals like traditional hotels and housing as a service.
The document provides a practical roadmap for successful outsourcing transitions with three key parts: strategic, operational, and tactical. It discusses the importance of transition management and common risks that cause failures. The strategic roadmap focuses on pre-transition planning, expectation setting, and communication. The operational roadmap centers on transition governance, performance management, and communication. The tactical roadmap drills down into monitoring, risk management, knowledge transfer, and keeping current operations running during the transition. The roadmap provides a comprehensive guide for planning and executing outsourcing transitions.
Feature Flagging to Reduce Risk in Database Migrations LaunchDarkly
I won’t say that feature flagging your database migration will make everything easy, but it will make it easier to test it with real, live data (for a subset of your user base), and much easier to roll it back if something goes wrong. I will explain how you can use feature flags to gradually apply a database migration or schema change, while constantly verifying that the new model passes integrity checks. This ensures that the migration can be applied in a controlled manner, with very little risk.
This document discusses Sonder, a tech-enabled hospitality brand that provides alternative accommodations. It notes that millennials are the fastest growing travel segment and will make up the majority of travelers. It then outlines some common complaints with traditional hotels and compares Sonder's offerings to independent hotels, big box chains, and peer-to-peer options. The rest of the document discusses Sonder's focus on guest experience, unit economics and efficiency, growing supply, strong demand drivers, and competitive defensibility in the market.

Making Work Product-Centric: A Journey at Nationwide Insurance | Tasktop Conn...Tasktop
Over the last 18 months, Enterprise Digital at Nationwide Insurance experimented with an end to end agile approach to better integrate IT delivery and business activities in the commercial and mobile spaces. Customers are demanding products quicker, and we as a company must find ways to compress the timeline required to deliver the features customers seek to remain competitive. At the end of the second phase of this transition, which comprised just one team, we found a 64% decrease in lead time from discovery to analysis and a 20% decrease in lead time from analysis to implementation. This end to end model stressed co-location of business and IT and working together as one cross-functional team to continuously plan, integrate, and deliver value to our customers. We made the value stream work visible from idea to implementation and organized it in product-centric value streams with the goal of standardizing customer experiences regardless of whether the customer is interacting with our company via web or mobile. This standardization allowed for maximum reusability of requirements, code, and automation, and decreased variances with and the frequency of estimating. In the end to end model, poly-skilling was stressed across both roles and technologies so that all team members had the flexibility to pick up and work on any card at any point in the flow. This, coupled with the team’s use of the tools necessary to implement dev ops capabilities, allowed us to be more responsive to the customer.

Continuous Delivery: releasing Better and Faster at DashlaneDashlane
An introduction to how the Dashlane Engineering Team worked on achieving Continuous Delivery: the ability to deliver to production, fast, reliably and on-demand, through an industrialized automated Release Pipeline.
The document describes an agile journey at Dashlane from 2014-2017 as they evolved from feature-focused teams to business-focused teams driven by objectives and key results (OKRs). Initially they used scrum but later adopted more scrumban practices. They introduced roadmaps, portfolios, and OKRs to align strategy, tactics, and operations. Transitioning to business teams and OKRs was challenging but improved business focus, alignment, and delivery of value. Ongoing work includes refining OKRs and supporting processes to continuously improve.
U2F is an open authentication standard that provides strong, two-factor authentication using a physical security key. It was developed by Google and Yubico and maintained by the FIDO Alliance. U2F uses public-key cryptography where the key is stored on a physical device rather than in software. This provides stronger security against phishing and man-in-the-middle attacks compared to one-time passwords. U2F keys can be used across multiple websites and support an unlimited number of accounts since each key generates a new key pair per registration.
Using TypeScript at Dashlane
Dashlane was looking for a solution to add static typing to their JavaScript projects to catch errors early and improve collaboration. They considered TypeScript and ES6+Flow. While ES6+Flow offered static typing, TypeScript was more fully featured and had better community support. Dashlane adopted TypeScript, which has provided type safety and IDE features. It has been a positive experience overall.

An MVP (Minimum Viable Product) mobile application is a streamlined version of a mobile app that includes only the core features necessary to address the primary needs of its users. The purpose of an MVP is to validate the app concept with minimal resources, gather user feedback, and identify any areas for improvement before investing in a full-scale development. This approach allows businesses to quickly launch their app, test its market viability, and make data-driven decisions for future enhancements, ensuring a higher likelihood of success and user satisfaction.
A Comparative Analysis of Functional and Non-Functional Testing.pdfkalichargn70th171
A robust software testing strategy encompassing functional and non-functional testing is fundamental for development teams. These twin pillars are essential for ensuring the success of your applications. But why are they so critical?
Functional testing rigorously examines the application's processes against predefined requirements, ensuring they align seamlessly. Conversely, non-functional testing evaluates performance and reliability under load, enhancing the end-user experience.

Ideas (for how we might
address area of focus)
• Web history import: scan web history
and curate list of likely sites where user
has an account
• Notes app import: build a sync connector
with OneNote, Evernote, and other
popular notes apps to scan and parse
potential account/password pairings
• Pen and paper import: customers can
use their phones to SMS photos of pen
and paper password docs, process with
machine learning OCR (or mechanical
turk) to provide same-day import
• Intermittent questioning: test a
program by which PC users are
intermittently asked to provide
passwords one at a time via a ”brain
dump” request. Ideal frequency and
user experience will be determined via
the test.
• Logos matchmaking: in OOBE, show a
set of logos of popular consumer sites
and have users check all that apply.
Follow-up by asking users to provide
credentials for them (including a bulk
add feature if appropriate).
• Email scan: sync with user’s email to
construct a picture of all likely
accounts a user will have; prompting
user to verify and provide credentials.
• Internet pass-through: test a feature
by which Dashlane monitors the
user’s internet connection for a period
of time, thus creating likely account
lists regardless of which browser is
being used; prompt user for
credentials at the end of the
monitoring period
Additional KPI's (used to
track success)
• % increase in import activity • <% bounce rate from brain dump
prompt experience
• % accuracy in suggested versus
claimed accounts
OKR: Increase desktop week 4 engagement rate from 18% to 30% by significantly increasing day 1 password adds.

26. 3 Key Take Aways
1. Trust your teams to be autonomous. Guide but do not

2. Experiment all the time. Small is better. Aim for learning.
3. Assess for value, not for delivery.
29. OKR – Objective & Key Results
• A framework of defining and tracking objectives
and their outcomes
• Created by Intel, in the 1970s
• Made popular by John Doerr and Google
• Adopted by most Silicon Valley companies
31. OKR Example
• Objective: Delight our customers
• Key Results:
• Increase average weekly visits from 3.1 to 3.3 per active user
• Improve Net Promoter Score from 46% to 52%.
• Increase non paid (organic) traffic from 70% to 80%.
• Increase engagement (users that complete a full profile) from 60% to 75%.
• Objective: Taming the Autofill Dragon
• Key Results:
• Achieve successful autologin on the top 50 Chinese websites
• Achieve successful autologin on the top 50 Korean websites
O can be fun!
32. Dashlane OKR
• Yearly Company OKR – High-Level Strategy
• KR can be reviewed and adapted every quarter or as needed.
• But O should theoretically remain stable in time
• Team Quarterly OKR – Tactical Short Term
• Impacting Company OKR
33. Moving to OKR
• It is hard, for everybody but especially for engineering.
• Big change of mindset:
• Focus on business impact and value first
• Projects come second.
• In theory, delivering a feature does not really count for success.
• Need to be very data-driven.
• Need to accelerate massively the cycle time and release process.
• Need experimentation tooling such as strong A/B Test Engine and Feature-
Flipping.
• Need to shift to a more bottom-up process (~60% bottom-up, ~40% top-down).
34. OKR learnings
• Don’t be too ambitious, else teams get frustrated with unreachable goals.
Roofshots rather than Moonshots.
• Have fewer O and KR rather than too many. Otherwise you loose focus.
• Not all projects/initiatives are related to OKR.
• Allow for different types of KR:
• Learning metrics
• Business metrics
• Technical metrics
• Time those KR based on the current progress and based on the outcome
you are looking for. Learning first before optimizing and impacting business
for instance.
