Lt. Gen. Thomas James, #USSPACECOM deputy commander, welcomed Lt. Gen. William Hartman, U.S. Cyber Command deputy commander, to the USSPACECOM HQ, where he received multiple briefings and updates designed to reinforce the foundational space-cyber relationship in unified operations. 

In a stride toward enhanced space domain awareness and military cooperation, members of the Mexican armed forces joined their U.S. counterparts at the Catalyst Campus for Technology and Innovation in Colorado Springs, Colorado. This gathering, hosted by U.S. Northern Command and #USSPACECOM, enabled observations of commercial space’s role at the Joint Commercial Operation’s cell during U.S. Southern Command’s Exercise Resolute Sentinel.   “The Joint Commercial Operation’s cell is a testament to U.S. unwavering commitment to space domain awareness through collaboration with the international and commercial communities,” said United States Space Force Lt. Col. Brig. Gen. Eric Little, #USSPACECOM’s deputy operations director, spoke with nearly 50 participants to kick off the command’s Joint Fires Exercise Rehearsal in Colorado Springs, where they refined the command’s methodology to prioritize, plan, execute, and assess space-based and terrestrial targeting.   Additionally, the rehearsal is also part of the EXERCISE APOLLO GRIFFIN life cycle, USSPACECOM’s training event to strengthen the command’s collaboration with its joint and allied partners. USSPACECOM, working with Allies and Partners, plans, executes, and integrates military spacepower into multi-domain global operations in order to deter aggression, defend national interests, and when necessary, defeat threats.

Last month, leaders of oversight agencies from six countries met near Washington, D.C., to review and assess the performance of the NATO SATCOM Services 6th Generation (NSS6G). During the meeting, they agreed on an amendment to the memorandum of understanding, allowing Luxembourg and Spain to join the U.S., France, Italy, and the U.K. in providing military satellite communications to NATO.   The addition of Spain and Luxembourg to NSSG6 means increased resilience in satellite communications capability, including resistance to nuclear effects and jamming capabilities.   Read the full story here: https://lnkd.in/gzvGtHiD

Congratulations to Capt. Kyle Defibaugh, #USSPACECOM’s Wednesday Warrior of the Week. As the exercise intelligence planner, he leads intelligence projects and works with various partners and commands throughout the exercise process. He defined roles and set up standard procedures for his team. He also played a crucial role in integrating space intelligence operations across the Department of Defense. Thank you for all you do, Capt. Defibaugh.

In its 75th-anniversary year, NATO continues to make strides, recently establishing an official Space Branch.
