The question of how AI will impact the labor market is on the mind of every talent leader – including me! According to a recent study conducted by ServiceNow and Pearson, there’s a lot to celebrate as we consider future opportunities for workers globally including:    The demand for labor will exceed supply over the next five years with one million additional workers needed in the U.S. alone.     By 2028, the U.S. will need to fill an additional 1.76 million IT jobs.     As AI takes on more routine tasks, there will be a rising demand for human skills like critical thinking and creativity.      I sat down with my colleagues, Heather Jerrehian and Laura LeBleu to talk about this research and the possibilities that AI can offer. Los Angeles peeps...for those of us who love this great city of ours, like so many cities across the U.S., homelessness has become a chronic issue that touches every corner of our city. People are compassionate but also anxoius and not sure what to do. The things that contribute to why people experience homelessness are complex, and the solutions aren't simple. Especially for women - In Los Angeles, we are now at a place where more than 30% of adults experiencing homelessness are women. Sooooo...a few of my talented and funny friends and I are hosting an event to help these women ultimately secure permanent housing, which is key to ensuring they STAY housed. I wouldn't go so far as to say our friends at Bloomberg need to "correct" the narrative here, but I would definitely modify the story to reflect that our strategy is to uncover the best talent in the marketplace and then we work hard to develop authentic relationships with that talent, regardless of where they are today. Personal update alert! It has long been a dream to join the Board of an organization that is truly making a difference in the world and I am humbled and honored to share that that dream has come true. Every since I was a young girl, witnessing fellow human beings experiencing homelessness has affected me to my core. And we are in a crisis. On a national level and on a global level....and Los Angeles is no exception. The Downtown Women’s Center (DWC) is the only organization in Los Angeles focused exclusively on serving and empowering women experiencing homelessness and formerly homeless women. DWC is changing the lives of women every day and are manifesting a vision of a Los Angeles with every woman housed and on a path to personal stability. Its mission is to end homelessness for women in greater Los Angeles through housing, wellness, employment, and advocacy. Founded in 1978, DWC was the first permanent supportive housing provider for women in the U.S. I take this honor and responsibilty very seriously and will do all that I can to continue to lift and celebrate these deserving women through the work of DWC.
