Today's #TechTuesday is from our own engineer, Rafi Hershtig! 5G Spectrum Monitoring is demanding DC to 67GHz products. In response to 5G ATE Harmonics monitoring, K&L Microwave developed and shipped to prime customer it's latest version of SPCL-00808, wide band High-Pass / Low-Pass Diplexer capable to span from DC to 67GHz. The Low-Pass filter covers DC to 5.5GHz and rejects more than -50dB from 7GHz to 67GHz. The High-Pass Filter exhibits a 3dBc cutoff frequency at 8 GHz and covers up to 67GHz with -2dB loss typical, while rejecting by -50dB from DC to 5.5GHz, plot is attached below. The design exploits several technologies and was simulated by CST 3D and Sonnet software to fine tune and guarantee a mode free environment. Extra efforts were paid launching into the 1.85mm connectors providing input VSWR of 1.4:1 over the Low-Pass band and 2:1 over the High-Pass band. Overall, excellent agreement was found between simulated and measured data. With the power handling of 2W, this unit is placed before and after the DUT, such that the carriers are injected in the DC-5.5GHz and their respective harmonics are monitored in the 8-67GHz band. IsoHorns is changing the WISP industry by bringing performance standards from microwave backhaul technology to the WISP industry. We’re developing a 6 GHz narrowband dish antenna for the Cambium ePMP Force 4600c that’s designed for long-distance connections. This dish has a 34 dBi gain and a 3-foot diameter, which means it can send signals over long distances. Plus, it has a low VSWR of less than 1.3, so it’s super efficient with minimal signal loss for high speeds and capacity to get the highest modulation rates with the ePMP Force 4600c radio. By using techniques and standards typically reserved for the microwave backhaul industry, we're helping WISPs get the same high-level performance. This means better signal quality, faster data speeds, and more reliable connections, even over long distances. Our goal is to make sure WISPs can provide fast and dependable internet to areas that really need it, using the best tools available.
