Want to see how first place of the Siemens' annual electronics design competition (in the multi-board systems category) looks like? Presenting Pleora Technologies' complex multi-board system, crafted with Xpedition and HyperLynx software. Impressive features, smooth signal integrity, and smart engineering led to this achievement. "The design contains the following: a single lamination 6-layer PCB, a flex 6-layer PCB, a 2 lamination 8-layer PCB, a 2 lamination 14-layer PCB, and a 3 lamination 18-layer PCB. The system is built for Pleora’s Rugged CONNECT Smart Video Switcher, a highly integrated standalone device that acquires, processes, and displays real-time video sensor data for vehicle-based local situational awareness (LSA) and driver vision enhancer (DVE) applications. ... Using the Xpedition flow, Pleora was able to accomplish everything they wanted to do in a printed circuit board design. This included buried vias, stacked micro vias, rigid-flex boards, and multiple lamination cycles, all while achieving the overall height restrictions from board to board and maintaining signal integrity."
