Like many large companies, 3M is working to better serve our employees with disabilities as well as caregivers of those with disabilities. We want to eliminate the stigma and bias that comes with disability, and shift the view to how a diverse workforce helps us imagine new products that bring science to life for people of all abilities. They assemble teams of 12 to work as volunteers in developing countries by providing our business knowledge and experience to volunteer organizations that are focused on decreasing poverty, improving health, and increasing opportunities for women. I spent a month in India supporting a start-up incubator by examining their business practices and designing ideas for a faster, broader reach to those individuals in India that are working to alleviate the impacts of extreme poverty.
