It’s been a while since my last post, but a trip to Miami in February related to AI is a good reason. Thank you to #LeverX for hosting SAP’s AI Forum! Well done! And I had an unexpected experience that tied my last and my current role together. When I checked in to my hotel, the network was down. Long lines, collecting customer data and credit card information on paper, accompany every guest to the room to open the door with special access card, limited services, etc. Don’t underestimate the value of a reliable network and if you can’t guarantee it, have a plan B. Maybe it’s time to move on from pen and paper, edge solutions don’t break the bank and aren’t clunky anymore 😉

Good start of AUSA yesterday. Always a nice opportunity to connect with friends and partners, like Anita Stanton, Mark Cress, and Dominic Bonaduce from #verizon. And it is great to see in action what #sap, #verizon, #cornet, #zebra, and #dell put together. Disconnected operations with mobile devices on a private network! Use the opportunity today to see it live at booth 1849.

Now (following up on my last post), how about we are adding a small #dell server with a remote #sap S/4HANA ERP to the Private #verizon Network? Wouldn’t that be a powerful solution for remotely operating teams when comms to the backend go down?

Today I had the opportunity to work at the intersection of my current and my last job as we are preparing a showcase that focuses on enabling business users at the tactical edge. Which basically means running #sap solutions on #zebra handheld devices connected via a Private Network by #verizon, established by a #cornet Manpack. And there is more to come…

It was great to be back at Hannover Messe and to catch up with clients, partners, technology providers and our own experts. The advancements in the area of 5G, digital manufacturing, and edge computing are really impressive, especially when you can see the use cases on the show floor. Remembering the need to enable business operations at the tactical edge which we are supporting with S/4HANA remote servers and EWM, it was interesting to see that SAP Digital Manufacturing is also going a hybrid approach in support of operations on the edge. Special thanks to Rob Kasegrande and Deloitte for inviting me to the panel on Private Networks for Manufacturing together with Katie Crammer from Verizon I enjoyed it very much to put our partnership into action! #5g #hm23 #sap #verizon #deloitte

This is an exciting week, kind of returning to some of my roots. Aside from spending a few days with my mother back home, I have the opportunity to return to Hannover Messe, where I once did an internship.
